I purchased this phenomenal piece of machinery in February 2026. Previously residing in Pacifica near San Francisco, this 540i has been a West Coast car its entire life. I've driven it as a daily commuter and for leisure, and it offers a fantastic balance of comfort and performance. It's smooth and composed on the highway, planted through mountain curves, and has impressive straight-line speed from its high-revving, naturally aspirated V8, all paired with the 6-speed manual. This car was outfitted from the factory with Dinan upgrades; Stage 2, consisting of a cold-air intake, exhaust, strut bar, and ECU tune. Before and during my ownership, the car has been well cared for, with an emphasis on proactive and preventative maintenance. The maintenance list is extensive for good reason. Please review the photos/screenshots for records from both previous owners and my detailed 2026 maintenance notes. An important note regarding mileage: the engine was replaced when the chassis had approximately 140,000 miles. The donor engine had approximately 90,000 miles at the time of installation. The chassis/odometer currently reads approximately 225,800 miles, putting the engine at approximately 175,800 miles. I have paperwork verifying the engine replacement, along with service records dating back through previous ownership. The screen shots/notes are dated in reverse chronological order. The car includes two keys, the original Dinan pamphlet, and a substantial stack of service records. Clean, non-salvage title in hand. As expected from a car of this age and mileage, it isn't without quirks. There is currently a slow oil leak on the driver's side beneath the timing chain cover, and the exterior has some dings and scratches that are best seen in person. Overall, this is an honest, well-documented and extensively maintained example that has been driven, enjoyed, and cared for as it should be.
