Paired with a smooth automatic transmission and sending power to the rear wheels, this is the kind of powertrain combination that made BMW famous. The RWD setup delivers a balanced, driver-focused feel that few front-wheel-drive competitors can match whether you're merging onto the 91 Freeway or cruising down the 215. The N52 engine in this generation 528i is praised for its linear power delivery and refinement. It's not turbocharged, which some buyers actually prefer no turbo lag, simpler maintenance, and a more natural throttle response. Standard features on the 2011 BMW 528i typically include dual-zone automatic climate control, a premium audio system, power-adjustable front seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and BMW's hallmark instrument cluster layout. The trunk offers practical storage space for a luxury sedan, and rear passenger room is comfortable for adults on longer trips. ===== BMW 5 Series Reliability and Ownership ===== ==== What Buyers Should Know About the E60 528i ==== The 2011 BMW 5 Series represents the final year of the F10 generation's predecessor and carries a strong reputation among BMW enthusiasts for its driving dynamics. Potential buyers should be aware that at higher mileage, BMWs benefit most from a thorough pre-purchase inspection checking cooling system components, valve cover gasket condition, and ensuring all electronic systems are functioning correctly. These are routine considerations for any German luxury vehicle at this mileage level, not unique dealbreakers. What owners consistently report is that when serviced properly, the 528i with the N52 engine is surprisingly dependable.
