2012 Audi A3 For Sale This 2012 Audi A3 Premium is a compact wagon built at Audi s home plant in Ingolstadt, Germany. It pairs a turbocharged four-cylinder with a dual-clutch transmission, a combination that was uncommon in this class when it was new. It s finished in red over a beige interior and carries a PZEV emissions certification, meaning it meets stricter California-level standards. Power comes from Audi s 2.0L turbocharged inline-four, rated at 200 horsepower and known for strong low-end torque. It s paired with a 6-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic. Unlike a conventional torque-converter automatic, the S tronic uses two clutches to pre-select the next gear, which gives quick, smooth shifts and lets the car hold gears like a manual when you want it to. The A3 rides on 17-inch wheels with Falken all-season tires, a sensible setup for year-round use. The wagon body gives you the cargo flexibility of a small crossover with the road manners of a car, and the beige interior keeps the cabin bright and open. Audi s cabin design from this era is well regarded for its clean layout, and the A3 carries that over in a smaller package. Cars like this appeal to buyers who want something European, practical, and enjoyable to drive without the size or cost of a larger luxury wagon. A turbo engine, dual-clutch transmission, and hatch-style practicality is a configuration enthusiasts have increasingly gone looking for.
