With just over 53,000 miles on the odometer and the capable xDrive28i Sport Utility trim, this X1 represents the sweet spot of luxury, performance, and everyday practicality that San Diego drivers love. Whether you're commuting through Mission Valley, heading up to La Jolla, or hitting the weekend trails near Alpine, this BMW is built to do it all with confidence and style. ===== About This 2017 BMW X1 xDrive28i ===== The 2017 BMW X1 xDrive28i sits in a particularly strong position as a used buy. At 53,067 miles, this vehicle is well within its prime BMW's inline and turbocharged four-cylinder powertrains are well-documented for lasting well beyond 150,000 miles with proper maintenance. The second-generation X1, redesigned from the ground up for the 2016 model year, brought a dramatically more spacious interior, a more upright SUV profile, and a refined ride that won over critics and buyers alike. This is a vehicle that came out of a significant generational leap, not a minor refresh. ===== 2017 BMW X1 Performance and Engine ===== ==== Twin-Turbo Power Meets Everyday Efficiency ==== Under the hood sits BMW's acclaimed 2.0-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission that delivers crisp, near-seamless shifts whether you let it do its thing in automatic mode or take command with the paddle shifters for a more spirited drive. The xDrive all-wheel-drive system adds a meaningful layer of capability. In San Diego County, this matters more than people might think from wet winter mornings on the I-8 to sandy roads near Torrey Pines or mountain drives through Julian and Cuyamaca, xDrive manages traction proactively, sending power to the wheels that need it before slip even begins. Real-world drivers describe the X1 xDrive28i as punchy and confident, with enough low-end torque to feel immediate off the line without sacrificing fuel efficiency. ===== BMW X1 Features and Interior ===== ==== The Trim That Gets You What You Actually Want ==== The xDrive28i Sport Utility trim builds on a strong base with BMW's characteristic driver-focused interior layout. Expect a well-appointed cabin with iDrive infotainment, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic moonroof on most examples, and a rear seat that BMW dramatically expanded in this generation offering genuine adult-friendly legroom that earlier X1 models simply couldn't match. The Sport trim brings a more athletic exterior aesthetic with model-specific trim detailing, giving this X1 an edgier, more purposeful stance compared to base configurations. Inside, premium materials and BMW's ergonomic driver cockpit create an environment that feels noticeably elevated above mainstream compact SUV rivals. Cargo space in the X1 is class-competitive, and the 60/40 split-folding rear seat opens up a flat load floor for weekend hauls. ===== BMW X1 Reliability and Ownership ===== ==== What Owners and Experts Say ==== The second-generation X1 has earned a solid reputation for reliability relative to its BMW stablemates. The B48 2.0-liter turbocharged engine used in the xDrive28i is shared across a wide range of BMW models and has proven to be one of the brand's more dependable modern powerplants. Owners consistently praise the low day-to-day operating feel the X1 doesn't feel fragile or maintenance-intensive the way some luxury vehicles can. As with any used BMW, a pre-purchase inspection by a trusted independent BMW specialist is always a smart call, and you'll want to confirm oil change intervals were respected. At 53,000 miles, this X1 likely still has many of its serviceabl>
