If you've been searching for a 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec Sedan for sale in Concord, CA, this sleek black rear-wheel-drive grand sedan deserves your full attention. Available now at Bahal Motors in Concord, in the heart of Contra Costa County, this R-Spec represents the top of the Genesis lineup a genuine performance luxury sedan that routinely gets overlooked in favor of European badges but delivers an experience that rivals cars costing significantly more. ===== About This 2012 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 R-Spec ===== This particular Genesis 5.0 R-Spec comes dressed in striking black and carries 112,158 miles on the odometer a very reasonable number for a vehicle of this age and build quality. The Genesis sedan platform was engineered with longevity in mind, and when properly maintained, these cars routinely push well past 150,000 miles without significant issues. At this mileage, you're stepping into a car that has already cleared its break-in period and settled into its most reliable phase of ownership. For buyers in the Concord area looking for premium rear-wheel-drive performance without the premium price tag, this is a rare find. ===== 2012 Hyundai Genesis Performance and Engine ===== The heart of this R-Spec is a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission featuring overdrive and steering column-mounted shift controls. This powertrain combination produces a substantial 429 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque figures that put it in direct competition with the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class of the same era. The 8-speed automatic was considered state-of-the-art at its launch and remains one of the smoothest-shifting units you'll find in this class. What makes the R-Spec trim particularly special is that Hyundai specifically tuned this variant for drivers who wanted a more engaged, sport-oriented experience. The suspension is firmed up compared to the standard Genesis, the steering feel is sharper, and the overall character of the car leans toward athletic without sacrificing ride comfort on the kinds of roads you'll encounter throughout Contra Costa County. Power is sent to the rear wheels exclusively, giving this sedan a balanced, driver-focused dynamic that front-wheel-drive luxury cars simply can't replicate. ===== Hyundai Genesis Features and Interior ===== ==== R-Spec Trim Highlights ==== The Genesis 5.0 R-Spec was never a stripped-down sport model Hyundai loaded it with premium content while adding the performance upgrades. Expect a well-appointed interior featuring leather seating, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a premium audio system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a navigation system. The R-Spec adds sport seats with enhanced bolstering to keep you planted in corners, along with unique exterior and interior trim details that set it apart from the base Genesis variants. ==== Cabin Quality and Space ==== The Genesis sedan cabin is genuinely spacious, offering rear-seat legroom that competes with full-size luxury sedans. The dashboard layout is clean and well-organized, and the materials used throughout hold up well with age. This is a car you can drive across California in comfort, whether you're commuting through Concord or making a longer run toward Sacramento or the Bay Area coastline. ===== Hyundai Genesis Reliability and Ownership ===== The Genesis 5.0's Tau V8 engine has earned a strong reputation among enthusiasts and long-term owners. It's a robust, over-engineered unit that Hyundai developed specifically to compete with Lexus and German V8 rivals. Common owner feedback consistently highlights the engine's durability and smooth power delivery. The 8-speed transmission is equally well-regarded for its reliability when maintained with regular fluid changes.
