This powertrain is purpose-built for urban driving, highway commutes, and weekend family runs. It won't win drag races, but it delivers composed, predictable performance across the stop-and-go traffic patterns common throughout Riverside and the surrounding Inland Empire. Front-wheel drive in Southern California means you're not paying for four-wheel capability you'll rarely need, and the FWD setup actually improves fuel efficiency compared to AWD variants. ===== Dodge Journey Features and Interior ===== The Journey SE trim is Dodge's entry point into the Journey lineup, but don't let that fool you the cabin is genuinely spacious and family-friendly. The Journey's interior design prioritizes flexibility, offering a longer wheelbase than many competing compact SUVs and an optional third-row seat configuration on other trim lines. The SE provides comfortable seating for up to five passengers, a practical cargo area, and fold-flat rear seats that make hauling groceries, sports gear, or furniture surprisingly easy. Dodge equipped the Journey with intuitive controls, available USB connectivity, and a straightforward dashboard layout that doesn't require a tech tutorial to operate. ===== Dodge Journey Reliability and Ownership ===== The Dodge Journey has a reputation as a no-frills, no-nonsense workhorse. Owners consistently appreciate its generous interior dimensions and the low cost of ownership relative to competitors. The 2.4L four-cylinder engine in particular has proven dependable across high mileage many owners report crossing 150,000 to 200,000 miles with standard maintenance.
