The 2004 Ford F-150 XLT Super Cab represents the first year of the revolutionary eleventh-generation F-150, a truck that Ford claimed was virtually all-new from the ground up . Finished in a vibrant Red exterior, this truck combines the bold, squared-off styling with proven capability. Under the hood lies the dependable 4.6L Triton V8 engine, delivering 231 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque. This power is channeled through a 4-speed automatic transmission and a robust electronic shift-on-the-fly 4WD system for reliable traction in all conditions. The XLT trim was the most popular seller in the lineup, offering a strong balance of capability and comfort. It comes well-equipped with custom aluminum wheels, power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, and an overhead storage system on SuperCab models. The SuperCab configuration features rear-hinged access doors for the second row, making it easier to load passengers or gear. For towing and hauling, this configuration offers a maximum towing capacity of approximately 6,000 to 6,500 pounds depending on the specific axle ratio and bed length, with a payload capacity around 1,470 pounds. The truck also features four-wheel disc brakes and rack-and-pinion steering, both new for the 2004 redesign. Engineered for dependable work and everyday value, this F-150 achieves an EPA-estimated 14 MPG city and 18 MPG highway. With its classic red finish and the first-year appeal of the eleventh-generation redesign, this XLT Super Cab stands as a capable and historically significant workhorse.
