Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, this combination delivers the kind of smooth, confident acceleration that makes merging onto the 91 Freeway or cruising down the 60 genuinely enjoyable. The Pentastar V6 has earned a reputation across the industry for being one of the most durable and well-sorted six-cylinder engines in its class Fiat Chrysler put this engine in everything from Jeeps to RAM trucks for good reason. Rear-wheel drive gives the Charger its distinctive, driver-focused character, and in Southern California's climate, it's an ideal setup year-round. ===== Dodge Charger SXT Features and Interior ===== ==== A Cabin That Works Hard Every Day ==== The 2022 Charger SXT is built around a practical yet performance-inspired interior. The SXT trim also brings sport cloth seating with available heated front seats, a flat-bottom sport steering wheel, and driver information display. Despite its muscle car reputation, the Charger's four-door layout and large trunk make it genuinely livable for daily commuting, weekend road trips, or hauling the family across Riverside County. ===== Dodge Charger Reliability and Ownership ===== ==== What Owners and Experts Say ==== The Dodge Charger has built a loyal owner base for one very simple reason: it delivers. The Pentastar V6 in particular is widely regarded as one of the more reliable domestic engines of the modern era, with minimal reported issues related to timing, seals, or major drivetrain components at this mileage range. Owners commonly praise the Charger for its low cost of ownership relative to its performance output, and parts availability is excellent throughout Southern California.
