If you've been hunting for a clean, low-mileage early-2000s SUV that still turns heads on the road, this 2004 Nissan Xterra XE Sport Utility for sale at Siry Motors by Siry & Sons Inc in San Diego, California deserves a serious look. With just 54,808 miles on the odometer remarkably low for a vehicle of this age this Xterra represents the kind of opportunity that doesn't come around often in the San Diego used SUV market. ===== About This 2004 Nissan Xterra XE ===== At just over 54,000 miles, this 2004 Nissan Xterra XE is well below what you'd expect from a vehicle entering its third decade. Whether it spent most of its life as a weekend warrior or a lightly used second vehicle, the numbers speak for themselves. The Xterra was purpose-built as a rugged, body-on-frame SUV, and at this mileage, it still has a tremendous amount of life left. Buyers looking for a used Nissan Xterra in San Diego County will find this one especially compelling it's the kind of truck-based SUV that rewards its owner for years to come when it's been treated right. ===== 2004 Nissan Xterra Performance and Engine ===== Under the hood sits Nissan's proven 3.3-liter V6 engine paired with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. This powertrain combination was well-regarded for its balance of reliability and capability. The 3.3-liter V6 produces strong low-end torque that made the Xterra feel confident whether merging onto the freeway or navigating the kind of rough terrain San Diego County is famous for from the backcountry roads east of El Cajon to the coastal hills near Mission Valley. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and is well-matched to the V6's power delivery, making daily commuting in San Diego traffic comfortable without sacrificing the ability to tow light loads or haul gear on weekends. The 2WD drivetrain keeps things simple and efficient, making it an ideal choice for Southern California buyers who want the elevated ride height and rugged character of the Xterra without the added complexity of four-wheel-drive systems. ===== 2004 Nissan Xterra XE Features and Interior ===== ==== Practical, Purpose-Driven Design ==== The XE trim level on the Xterra was designed around practicality and durability. Inside, you'll find a straightforward layout that has held up well over the years Nissan built the Xterra's cabin to take real-world abuse, with materials and surfaces that don't show their age the way softer, more premium-focused interiors do. There's generous cargo room behind the rear seats, and the Xterra's distinctive roof rack and boxy silhouette make it instantly recognizable on San Diego streets. ==== Cargo and Utility ==== One of the most beloved features of any Xterra generation is the sheer practicality of its cargo area. With fold-down rear seating and a wide cargo floor, this is a vehicle that genuinely earns its sport utility label. Whether you're loading up for a camping trip to Palomar Mountain or hauling mountain bikes back from a ride in Mission Trails Regional Park, the Xterra delivers. ===== Nissan Xterra Reliability and Ownership ===== The first-generation Nissan Xterra which ran through 2004 before the second generation arrived developed a loyal following for one key reason: it was exceptionally tough. Built on the same platform as the Nissan Frontier pickup, the Xterra inherited the truck's durability and mechanical simplicity. The 3.3-liter V6 in particular has a reputation for going well beyond 150,000 to 200,000 miles with basic maintenance. One item that informed buyers of this generation often ask about is the potential for a cracked upper intake manifold a known issue on some 3.3-liter engines of this era. At this mileage, it's a worthwhile inspection point, but many examples never experienced the issue at >
