This 2019 BMW X2 M35i is presented as a compact luxury crossover with a more performance-oriented specification than the standard X2 trim. Its body style combines a hatchback-like profile with raised ride height, giving it the practical packaging of a small utility vehicle while retaining the proportions associated with BMW's passenger-car lineup. The M35i designation identifies it as the highest-performance version of the X2 for this model year, and that positioning is reflected in its equipment and mechanical tuning. It is an all-wheel-drive model in this application, and its cabin and controls are arranged with the familiar BMW emphasis on driver-focused ergonomics. The vehicle's exterior details and chassis calibration are part of the factory build for this trim, and they place it above the more common four-cylinder versions in both output and specification. Inside, this example includes Leather Seats, which give the seating surfaces a more finished appearance and a material upgrade over standard cloth upholstery. The interior follows the X2's compact format, with front seats set up for daily use and rear seating fitted within the vehicle's limited overall footprint. The dashboard and center stack are arranged in the traditional BMW manner, with controls positioned for direct access from the driver's seat. The trim also includes Navigation, and that factory-integrated system is part of the vehicle's infotainment equipment rather than an added aftermarket component. Apple CarPlay is also present, allowing compatible phone integration through the vehicle's interface. These features are combined with the rest of the cabin hardware in a way that keeps the focus on usability rather than ornamentation. Storage areas, switchgear, and trim pieces are packaged in a layout that reflects BMW's approach to small premium crossovers from this period. Driver assistance and visibility equipment on this X2 M35i includes Collision Warning and a Backup Camera. Collision Warning is one of the electronic aids integrated into the vehicle's active safety equipment, and it operates as part of the existing sensor suite rather than as a separate add-on. The Backup Camera is incorporated into the rearview system and provides a view when reversing. Those features sit alongside the other standard controls and displays without requiring additional setup from the driver beyond normal use of the vehicle's systems. The steering, pedal response, and general road feel are consistent with the M35i's performance role, and the model's hardware is intended to deliver more responsive behavior than the lower-output variants in the X2 range. This example also includes a Hands-free Liftgate, which adds convenience to rear cargo access while preserving the compact hatch opening that is typical of this body style. Mechanically, this 2019 BMW X2 M35i is equipped with the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four used in the M35i trim, paired with BMW's performance-oriented drivetrain calibration. That powertrain gives the vehicle stronger acceleration than the base X2 models and supports its place at the top of the lineup for this generation. The suspension tuning and brake package are part of the M35i specification, and they align with the more assertive road manners associated with the trim. Even with that emphasis, the vehicle remains compact enough for urban use and parking in tighter spaces, while still offering the elevated driving position and cargo access expected of a crossover. The combination of all-wheel drive, a turbocharged engine, and the listed equipment creates a specification that is straightforward to evaluate on its own merits, with the cabin, technology, and driver aids presented in factory form.
