Meet the *2015 Subaru WRX Premium*, powered by Subaru's turbocharged 2.0-liter BOXER engine and equipped with the *Sport Lineartronic automatic transmission*. And that transmission makes this particular WRX an interesting find. Most people immediately associate the WRX with a manual gearbox. And while we certainly appreciate a good stick shift, there's something to be said for enjoying turbocharged Subaru performance without dealing with a clutch every time traffic slows down. You still get the aggressive WRX styling. The turbocharged acceleration. The legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. And the responsive, sport-tuned chassis that makes the WRX so entertaining. *But with the everyday convenience of an automatic.* Add the Premium trim's comfort features, and you've got a performance sedan that makes a surprisingly good daily driver. ---------------------------------------- ===== ?? With 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque, there's plenty of performance available when you want to have a little fun. And because this example has Subaru's Sport Lineartronic transmission, you can enjoy that performance without constantly shifting gears yourself. The transmission also offers paddle-shift control with simulated gear ratios, giving you an additional level of involvement when the road gets interesting. *It's WRX performance with a more relaxed approach to everyday driving.* ---------------------------------------- ===== ?? Sport Lineartronic Automatic Transmission ===== *Subaru Sport Lineartronic CVT automatic* Paddle shifters Sport-oriented transmission programming Simulated manual gear selection Smooth everyday operation No clutch pedal required All-wheel-drive integration Convenient stop-and-go driving Let's talk about the automatic. Because this isn't simply a conventional transmission borrowed from an economy sedan. Subaru developed the Sport Lineartronic system specifically to work with the WRX's turbocharged engine and all-wheel-drive architecture. It uses a continuously variable transmission with programmed shift behavior to deliver smooth acceleration and a more engaging response when driven enthusiastically. And for someone who wants the WRX experience without committing to a manual transmission? *This is exactly the configuration to look for.* You get the turbo. You get the AWD. You get the handling. And you can enjoy all of it while keeping both hands on the wheel in traffic. ---------------------------------->
