The Chevrolet Bolt EV electric hatchback is thoroughly updated for 2022. There aren’t any significant mechanical changes, and it continues with a similar electric drivetrain achieving up to 259 miles of range on a full charge.
Chevy entirely redesigned the exterior and interior of the Bolt EV for 2022. Also, it has a lower price point than its predecessor. It’s available in two distinct trims (which have the same range), so you can pick the one that’s the right fit for your taste and your budget.
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT (starting at $31,000)
The redesigned Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with more standard features than previous years. Of course, an electric drivetrain with an EPA-estimated 259-mile range comes standard, but you also get some excellent tech features.
The standard infotainment system is a 10.2-inch screen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. That means you can link your smartphone to the screen in the car for music, navigation, and more without taking it out of your pocket or purse.
Another great standard feature on every 2022 Chevy Bolt EV is the Chevy Safety Assist safety tech suite. This includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beams.
On top of that, additional safety features include ten airbags, an HD backup camera, and a Teen Driver Mode.
A few other nice features you get on the base 1LT trim are automatic climate control, remote start, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and a Sport Mode to make your drive a little more exciting.
There are two option packages available for the Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT, both of which are reasonably priced. The $495 Driver Confidence Package does what its name implies by adding rear parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot monitoring.
Additionally, you can add a Comfort and Convenience Package for $945, adding heated front seats, a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. This package is worth considering if you live in a cold climate.
With the destination fee, the 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT starts at $31,995. With no down payment, no trade-in, and 3% interest for 60 months, the monthly payment for this car would be around $575. That number can go down if you’ve saved some money for a down payment or if you have a trade-in. See 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT models for sale
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT includes:
- 259-mile range — This electric range ensures most drivers can make their daily commute in the Bolt EV with plenty of battery to spare.
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay — Connect your smartphone to the car’s infotainment system without fussing with wires.
- Chevy Safety Assist — This standard safety tech suite includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, and other handy driver assistance features.
- Sport Mode — Liven things up a bit by switching into Sport Mode to experience the joys of electric torque.
2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 2LT (starting at $34,200)
Upgrading to the 2LT trim adds premium features to the Chevrolet Bolt EV while keeping the price reasonable. For starters, you get everything that comes with both available option packages on the 1LT trim. If you want both of those option packages, consider springing for the 2LT model. It bundles all of those features and adds plenty more.
Additional premium features that come standard on 2LT include leather seats, an HD Surround Vision 360-degree camera, a rear center armrest, ambient interior lighting, and nicer wheels.
There’s an available $595 Infotainment Package for 2LT. It upgrades your multimedia experience with a Bose 7-speaker premium audio system, a wireless charging pad, and two rear USB ports.
You can also add adaptive cruise control as a $375 option. However, if you want adaptive cruise control, you also need to get the Infotainment Package. We wish this came standard on this trim, but at least it’s an inexpensive upgrade.
The good news is that a fully-loaded Bolt EV 2LT with both available option packages still doesn’t break the bank.
The starting price of the 2LT trim with the destination fee is $35,195. Using the same math we’ve outlined above for a loan at 3% interest for 60 months, the payment for a Bolt EV 2LT would be $632/month. See 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV 1LT models for sale
