A not-so-mini family van big on style and substance and short on shortcomings comes from the company that invented the minivan. With only a few family vans competing (and none from rival domestic makers GM and Ford), the Pacifica offers a unique take on the minivan, with sleek styling, an upscale interior, and the only one minivan in the segment to offer a plug-in hybrid option.
The 2022 Chrysler Pacifica’s standard engine is a 287-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. The hybrid uses this same engine paired with an electric motor to generate a system total of 260 hp. The Pacifica Hybrid attains an 82-MPGe fuel economy rating and has a total range of 520 miles. It has an electric-only range of 32 miles.
New features this year include Amazon Fire TV for Auto, allowing passengers to stream their favorite movies or TV shows, control vehicle features, and even access Amazon Alexa.
The standard Pacifica provides seating for seven, but if you need room for eight, the Touring L provides it, but only on the front-drive version. For now, those seeking all-wheel drive and a hybrid engine will have to turn to the Toyota Sienna.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring (Starting at $37,095)
The first trim in the Pacifica line comes only with the gas engine but does offer the option of all-wheel drive.
The nicely equipped 7-passenger Touring trim includes power-sliding side doors, LED headlights and fog lights, automatic high-beam headlights, and LED DRL (daytime running lights). Privacy glass covers the rear glass, while a laminated windshield helps reduce wind and road noise. A power-operated liftgate is standard, along with power heated side mirrors and rain-sensing wipers.
Up top, the standard Stow ‘n Place roof rack features crossbars that tuck away inside the rails, while down under the Pacifica rides on 17-inch Silver Litho alloy wheels. The Pacifica doesn’t come with a full-size spare tire but instead has a sealer kit and inflator. Buyers can opt for larger 18-inch wheels with self-sealing tires.
The Pacifica’s passenger cabin is rich in textures and features. The standard roster includes tri-zone automatic climate control with rear controls and vents, LED interior lighting, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a tilt/telescoping heated steering wheel with audio, Bluetooth, and cruise control buttons. In place of a traditional shift lever, the Pacifica uses a rotary knob to select gears.
The second-row windows feature retractable shades, and there are storage trays in the floor and front console. The driver’s seat is 8-way power-adjustable with 4-way power lumbar support, and the second-row captain’s chair Stow ‘n Go seats fold flush into the floor when not needed.
The Touring’s seats are covered in premium cloth and feature heated front seats and an 8-way power driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support. The second-row and third-row Stow ‘n Go seats can be folded into the floor when not needed, an easy and convenient design creating a low and level cargo floor.
Infotainment is a big part of van life, so the Pacifica comes with Chrysler’s Uconnect 5 system featuring a 10.1-inch touch screen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM 360L. Also in the mix is HD radio, streaming Bluetooth, and voice activation. Handling music reproduction is a 6-speaker sound system.
Finally, one of the essential features for any vehicle relegated to family-hauling duty is safety, and here the Pacifica has all the bases covered. Standard safety equipment includes a full complement of airbags, electronic traction and stability control, and an electric parking brake with a safe hold.
Standard driver-assists include a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, forward collision alert, full-speed automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go. Other features include lane-departure warning and rear parking sensors that automatically brake if the system determines you’re about to hit something.
Other notable convenience features include a rear backup camera, proximity key fob with push-button start, and a tire pressure monitor.
Other than an S Appearance Package and some wheel upgrades, the Touring has no other factory options.
With a $1,495 destination fee, a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring will cost $38,590. On a 60-month loan at 3% and with no money down, the monthly payment should be around $693. See 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring models for sale
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring includes:
- 8-way power driver’s seat – helps find the perfect driving position and includes 4-way power lumbar support.
- Tri-zone air conditioning – cools all three rows and includes rear controls for second-row passengers.
- Stow ‘n Go seating – folds flat into the floor with a few simple steps. When not folded, the floor wells provide additional storage space.
- Adaptive cruise control – safely maintains a set distance between the Pacific and the traffic ahead. The system can even slow or stop the vehicle, then resume speed once traffic begins to move.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L ($43,460)
The Touring L opens the door to more features, such as the hybrid powertrain and available eight-passenger seating. It also offers a few more standard and optional upgrades.
When it comes to capacity, the Touring L has the same seven-passenger layout as the Touring, only due to the placement of the battery packs, the second-row Stow ‘n Go feature is not available on the hybrid models. In their place, Chrysler puts two removable captain’s chairs that are, by all accounts, far more comfortable than the thinner Stow ‘n Go seats.
Adding to the Touring’s standard equipment, the Touring L brings a dual-pane panoramic sunroof (not available on the hybrid), Tech Silver 17-inch wheels, rear ambient lighting, second and third-row retractable shades (not available on the hybrid), super console with illuminated cup holders, and driver’s seat memory.
Also standard are leather seating, a 360-degree surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors with stop, and parallel and perpendicular park assist.
Optional equipment for the L is extensive and almost exclusively contained in one massive package, the Uconnect Family Group.
The Uconnect Family Group adds 10.1-inch seatback screens, Uconnect Theatre with wireless streaming, Amazon Fire TV for Auto, 13 adult/children video games, a video remote control, and a 115-volt outlet. Other features in the package include a third-row USB charge port, a Blu-ray/DVD player, and KeySense. This system promotes safer driving by limiting speed, radio volume, and certain security features while driving.
Hold on. Still not done. The FamCAM interior camera lets you monitor children in rear-facing child seats, while a Stow ‘n Vac vacuum makes cleaning up little messes a snap. Hands-free sliding side doors and liftgate are also included, as are heated second-row seats, second-row one-touch power windows, a power passenger seat, navigation, and a 13-speaker Alpine audio system.
Including destination, the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L will cost $45,135. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and with no money down, expect the monthly payment to be $811. See 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L models for sale
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Touring L includes:
- Dual-pane sunroof – lets light into the cabin and can partially open to bring in more fresh air.
- Parallel parking assist – can self-parallel park the Pacifica with minimal help from the driver. Also works in perpendicular parking spot.
- 360-degree camera – displays a clear view outside the Pacifica showing front, side, and rear images.
- Available FamCAM – this helpful camera looks down on the second-row and third-row seats, with the ability to show a split-screen view and “zoom-to-seat” feature.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited ($51,940)
The Limited trim opens the door to more luxury. It too can be had with the hybrid engine, while the gas-powered model offers all-wheel drive.
Adding to the Touring L, the Limited includes foot-gesture activated hands-free power sliding doors and liftgate, power-folding side mirrors with auto-dimming and reverse tilt-down feature, and 18-inch polished alloy wheels (17-inch on the hybrid).
The Limited gets more lighting features, such as puddle lights, courtesy footwell illumination, and front-door searchlights. It also includes the Stow ‘n Vac built-in vacuum cleaner, an integrated premium console, an 8-way power front passenger seat, and heated second-row seats.
The Limited’s seats are trimmed in premium Nappa leather, and both the driver and passenger seats slide forward with the touch of a button, helping gain access to the Stow ‘n Go storage wells. The front seats are heated and ventilated.
The Limited’s infotainment system gets upgraded with navigation and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with a powered subwoofer.
The Limited Hybrid gains the dual-pane sunroof, second-row retractable shades, and a 20-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
Options for the Limited include a downsized version of the Uconnect Family Theatre Group, the S Appearance Package, 20-inch wheels, and a few dealer-installed options.
With destination, we expect the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited to cost $50,640. On a 60-month loan with no money down at 3% financing, the monthly payment should be $960. See 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited models for sale
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Limited includes:
- Foot-activated sliding doors – no need to reach for the key fob; swipe your foot under the door or rear liftgate, and it will automatically open.
- Harman Kardon audio – with 19 speakers backed by a 760-watt amplifier, the best stereo in the house might reside in the garage.
- Nappa leather seating – fine Nappa leather is soft to the touch and easy to clean up, an important feature where kids are involved.
- Stow ‘n Vac – this built-in vacuum helps clean up spills, dirt, and debris, keeping your minivan looking good as new.
2022 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle ($56,095)
As its name suggests, the Pinnacle is the finest Pacifica money can buy. Gasoline models come standard with all-wheel drive, while the hybrids retain a front-drive-only platform.
The Pinnacle includes all of the Limited’s features, then adds a black grille with chrome surround, 20-inch polished wheels (18-inch on the hybrid), and a 115-volt outlet.
Seating is upgraded to first class with Premium quilted Nappa Caramel leather with second-row lumbar pillows on captain’s chair seating. The Uconnect Theatre is also standard, as is Trailer Sway Control.

- Trailer Sway Control – only available on the Pinnacle; this feature helps keep control, such as when towing a trailer in high wind situations.
- 115-volt outlet – allows the use of a standard plug for low-power consumption devices like a laptop or tablet.
