The 2023 Audi e-tron offers midsize SUV styling, versatility, and luxury in a modern electric vehicle with various degrees of performance. Comprising the lineup are the standard e-tron SUV, the coupe-like S-line Sportback, and the performance-oriented e-tron S and e-tron S Sportback.
The e-tron and e-tron Sportback both feature dual-asynchronous electric motors and a 95.3-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Together, the motors create an electric version of Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive (AWD) and generate 355 horsepower, with a boost up to 402 hp for short sprints in Sport mode. The battery’s range is limited to 222 miles.
The e-tron S gains an additional electric motor, bringing total output to 429 hp and 469 with boost. How far the e-tron S can travel varies, ranging from 181 to 212 miles depending on trim and tire size.
With Tesla in its sites, Audi has created a more distinctive, luxurious offering, nearly equal to the Tesla Model X in performance but not range. Other competitors more in line with the e-tron include the Jaguar I-Pace, Genesis GV60, and BMW iX.
A $7,500 federal tax credit applies to both the e-tron and e-tron S.

e-tron Sportback S line Premium ($70,000)

The e-tron’s cabin displays Audi’s latest styling themes, with leather seating surfaces, leather and Alcantara trim, an 8-way power driver’s seat with 4-way power lumbar support, an 8-way power passenger seat, and a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The driver’s seat includes two-position memory for the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors.
Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard, as is Audi’s Advanced Key remote fob, which lets you unlock the doors and start the e-tron without removing it from your pocket or purse.
If you’re a fan of digital displays, you’ll love what Audi has done with the e-tron. The Virtual Cockpit display replaces traditional analog gauges with a 12.3-inch configurable LCD view screen. This setup allows the driver to choose between several screen designs or display a full-size navigation map.
A 4-zone automatic climate system comes standard, controlled via an 8-inch touchscreen with a separate smaller touchscreen for the left and right rear seat passengers. With a fully charged battery, the e-tron’s system is programmable to preheat or chill the cabin before you’re ready to go.
A third screen measuring 10.1 inches oversees the infotainment and media systems. Audi MMI navigation with a route planning feature is installed, so you’ll never be far from a charging station when it’s time to refuel.
Additional infotainment features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, Audi Connect Care (limited-time subscription), and Audi Connect Plus (6-month trial subscription).
Standard driver aids include forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and front and rear parking sensors. Audi’s Pre Sense Basic technology preps the vehicle in the event of a seemingly inevitable collision. Also standard is a blind-spot monitor.

The optional Convenience Plus Package brings adaptive cruise control with active lane assist, a 360-degree Top View camera, and black roof rails.
