Although it shares none of the rugged off-road abilities of its namesake, the 2023 Chevrolet Blazer continues to be a success story for Chevrolet. With its bold good looks, choice of 4- or 6-cylinder engines, and lengthy list of popular features, the Blazer’s appeal seems to cross all demographics.
A note to prospective buyers: due to the ongoing chip shortage, it’s unclear if GM will continue to remove popular features like heated seats and a heated steering wheel from the equipment list. As this was the case in 2022, it may continue through the 2023 model year. Be sure to check with your Chevrolet dealer what is and isn’t available.
2023 Chevrolet Blazer 2LT: $35,100 (FWD), $37,800 (AWD)
The entry-level Blazer is the 2LT trim. It comes standard with a 228-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is the standard layout, with all-wheel drive (AWD) optional.
Chevrolet gives the Blazer a long list of standard safety and driver-assist systems as part of the Chevy Safety Assist Package to keep it competitive. The package includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision alert, automatic high-beam headlights, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and following-distance indicator. A rear backup camera is also standard.
2LT buyers have the option to add a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control.
The Blazer 2LT includes 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights and taillights, heated power side mirrors, deep-tinted rear privacy glass, a rear wiper/washer, and a manual liftgate.
The cabin features cloth upholstery, an 8-way power driver seat with 2-way power lumbar support, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel with audio and cruise control buttons, plus power windows and power door locks. An electronic-locking glove box operates via a code entered on the car’s infotainment touch screen.
Also standard is dual-zone automatic climate control, rear air vents, an anti-theft alarm, and a proximity key fob allowing keyless open and push-button start.
This year, an improved infotainment system is new, with a larger 10-inch touch screen replacing last year’s 8-inch design. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system includes six speakers, AM/FM stereo, SiriusXM satellite radio with a 3-month trial, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth streaming, active noise cancellation technology, and a Wi-Fi hotspot (requires subscription).
Most options for the 2LT get bundled into packages. Among the more desirable equipment are a power rear liftgate, a wireless charging pad, remote start, an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, and 20-inch wheels.

The Blazer 3LT builds off the 2LT’s standard and optional equipment list, adding a power liftgate, a blind-spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 3LT offers the option of a 308-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 that also increases the Blazer’s tow rating from 3,500 to 4,500 pounds.
Additional standard features for the 3LT include a 6-way power passenger seat, remote start, perforated leather upholstery, a vinyl-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, plus Homelink universal home remote. Heated seats and rear park assist are standard but may not be available depending on the chip shortage situation.
Optional equipment for the 3LT includes the Sound and Technology package that adds adaptive cruise control, enhanced emergency braking (looks further down the road), an 8-speaker Bose audio system, GPS navigation, HD Surround Vision, a rear camera mirror with washer, two USB data ports with an SD card reader, and a 120-volt outlet located on the rear console.
A panoramic glass sunroof is also available.
Hitch Guidance with Hitchview allows the rearview camera to display a close-up view of the ball and hitch when placed in reverse.

The RS trim brings a sporty attitude to the Blazer, with a standard 3.6-liter V6 engine and an optional advanced Twin-Clutch all-wheel-drive system. The Twin Clutch design replaces the traditional rear differential with two individually- controlled clutch packs, providing better traction and power distribution between the rear wheels.
Beyond the RS’s unique exterior styling, including a black grille and black badging, and Chevy bow-tie emblems, the trim consists of black and silver 20-inch wheels and a foot-activated hands-free power liftgate. Chevrolet cleverly adds an illumined bow-tie emblem projected on the ground, showing exactly where you need to place your foot.
Building off the 3LT’s standard equipment, the RS includes black leather seating with red interior accents, GPS navigation, SiriusXM 360L, a heated steering wheel, an 8-speaker Bose audio system (may require additional optional equipment), a 120-volt outlet, and an 8-inch color driver information screen.
Optional equipment beyond the 3LT’s packages includes a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, driver’ seat memory, driver alert seat, and enhanced automatic emergency braking. Heated rear seats and ventilated front seats are also be available.

Heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, 6-way power passenger seat, a wireless charging pad, and a 120-volt outlet are also standard, as are heated auto-dimming power outside mirrors.
Upgrades for the Premier include heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and driver’s seat memory.
Also available are the Safety Alert Seat (vibrates to warn the driver of various conditions), adaptive cruise control, enhanced emergency braking, a rear camera mirror, and an HD Surround Vision camera.
