The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 copies the gas-powered GV70 almost to a tee. It even has a similarly designed grille, although it doesn’t need one because this compact luxury SUV is powered solely by electricity.
An electric motor at each axle creates an all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup that enhances performance and traction with a combined output of 429 horsepower.
With an estimated range of 236 miles, the GV70 can’t travel as far on a single charge as the Tesla Model Y or Audi Q4 e-tron, but it’s not far from the scope of the Mercedes-Benz EQB 300 while traveling more miles than the Lexus RZ 450.

The entry-level GV70 Advanced trim is precisely what its name suggests. It offers a slew of advanced features, including cutting-edge safety and driver-assist systems.
The Electrified GV70 comes standard with a forward collision warning for cars, pedestrians, and bicycles, and it will apply the brakes automatically if the driver fails to react. Also included are a blind-spot view monitor, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, rear cross-traffic detection with automatic braking, and automatic high-beam headlights.
But the list doesn’t end here. There’s a surround vision camera, safe exit assist, front and rear parking sensors, and a driver attention monitor.
You’ll also find adaptive cruise control with Highway Driving Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist that can pull the vehicle into or out of a parking space without needing the driver behind the wheel.
Advanced Rear Occupant Alert uses advanced radar systems to detect movement inside the car. Suppose a motion is detected after the driver leaves the vehicle. In that case, the system will honk the horn, flash the lights, and text their phone (requires a subscription to Genesis Connected Services) to get the driver’s attention.
Along with its electric powertrain, the Electrified GV70 includes an adaptive suspension with Road Preview. The Road Preview system uses a front camera to scan the road surface, anticipating changes in the pavement and adjusting the shock damping accordingly.
The Electrified GV70 also is capable of vehicle-to-load charging, which means it can power appliances or tools outside the vehicle.
A quick walk around the exterior reveals 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, power-folding heated side mirrors, a hands-free power liftgate with an auto-open feature, a panoramic sunroof, and a proximity key fob with remote entry.
Genesis Digital Key turns a smartphone into a key, allowing access to a locked vehicle or sharing the digital key with friends and family via their phones.
The Electrified GV70’s elegant interior includes leather upholstery covering 12-way heated and ventilated front seats with 4-way power lumbar support. The driver’s seat features power side bolsters, a power cushion extender, and Ergo Motion massaging.
Adjustable ambient interior lighting sets the mood, while 3-zone automatic climate control ensures everyone is comfortable.
A fingerprint identification pad lets the car know who’s behind the wheel and adjusts settings to match the stored driver profile. The pad allows the vehicle to start without the Smart Key fob, be put into valet mode, and grant access to services such as Genesis Carpay.
Additional amenities include a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a wireless charging pad, an 8-inch digital instrument cluster with analog gauges, and integrated memory for the driver’s seat. Genesis Smart Posture Care selects the best seating position based on the driver’s height, sitting height, and weight.
