2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: Choosing the Right Trim

The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer has only been on the market for one year, and Jeep is already improving its new flagship SUV. With 3-row seating, the ability to tow up to 10,000 pounds, and luxury features unexpected in a Jeep, the Grand Wagoneer hopes to lure buyers looking at not only the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator but luxury models from Lexus, Land Rover, and Mercedes-Benz.

For 2023, a new 510-horsepower twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-6 engine joins the lineup, offered as standard on the Series II and Series III trims. A potent 6.4-liter V8 remains the standard engine on the base Grand Wagoneer and is optional on the Series II and III when ordered with the Obsidian package.

Jeep’s Quadra-Drive II 4-wheel-drive (4WD) comes standard, as does the Quadra-Lift air suspension, making this the most technically advanced full-size Jeep ever offered.

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer: $87,995, Grand Wagoneer L: $91,495

The entry-level Grand Wagoneer gets the ball rolling with a 6.4-liter V8 and Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system with driver-selectable modes for Rock, Sand/Mud, and Snow. Drive to the front wheels is discontinued automatically to help conserve fuel when 4WD isn’t needed, and hill descent control keeps vehicle speed in check when negotiating steep downhill sections on the trail.

Jeep’s Selec-Speed comes standard, acting as a kind of slow-motion cruise control when off-roading.

The Grand Wagoneer touts 20-inch alloy wheels, a hands-free power liftgate, and dark-tinted rear privacy glass. The standard power-folding heated side mirrors include an auto-dimming feature for the driver’s mirror, and both mirrors tilt down when the transmission is placed in reverse.

Adaptive LED headlights come standard, along with LED fog lights that serve as de facto cornering lamps. Jeep provides plenty of exterior lighting, making it easy to see what’s ahead as you approach the vehicle.

A luxury SUV wouldn’t be luxurious if it didn’t include rain-sensing wipers, power deployable running boards, heated front wiper de-icers, a washer for the rear backup camera, and a proximity key fob that signals to unlock the vehicle when the door handle is touched.

You’d expect the best safety and driver-assist system to come standard at this level, and your guess would be correct. Along with forward collision warning, the Grand Wagoneer features automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and front and rear parking sensors with rear braking.

Also included are adaptive cruise control with stop and go, automatic high-beam headlights, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, a rear seat reminder, and an automated parking system that provides assistance with parallel parking.

Climbing inside the Grand Wagoneer reveals an interior that is anything but entry-level. Nappa leather upholstery covers the seats, which include second-row heated captain’s chairs and a power-folding 60/40 third-row bench seat.

The driver and front passenger sit on 20-way power-adjustable seats that pamper with heating, cooling, and massage. They even come with 4-way power adjustable head restraints.

A 2-position memory feature remembers the position of the driver’s seat, outside mirrors, power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and power-adjustable pedals. The rear seats feature head restraints that can be remotely lowered, a nice touch when you need a clear view out the rear liftgate window.

Additional amenities include 4-way automatic climate control, a heated steering wheel, a tri-panel panoramic sunroof with power sunshade, rear door manual sunshades, and ambient interior lighting.

Jeep clearly sees technology as a luxury, as evidenced by the abundant digital screens engulfing the dash. The driver views a 12.3-inch configurable digital instrument cluster and color head-up display, and the passenger gains access to the infotainment and navigation settings via an available 10.25-inch interactive display.

Dominating the central dashboard is a 12-inch color touchscreen that displays audio, navigation, and infotainment information and serves as the viewscreen for the 360-degree monitor.

The Grand Wagoneer’s infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, navigation, integrated voice control, and access to SiriusXM and Jeep subscription-based connected services.

All this goodness flows through 19 McIntosh speakers powered by a 950-watt amp. Strategically placed throughout the cabin, the speakers deliver an exceptional audio experience.

With an SUV full of users and their devices, charging won’t be an issue thanks to the many USB charge ports in all three rows. A rear seat 115-volt plug outlet and a front console wireless charging pad are also standard.

Lest you think the Grand Wagoneer can go no further, Jeep offers four option packages accompanied by several stand-alone options.

Notable package features include a power sliding 40/20/40 second-row bench seat, a digital rearview mirror, Night Vision, a rear seat monitoring camera, intersection collision assist, and the Jeep Active Driving Assist semi-autonomous self-driving system.

A dual-screen rear seat entertainment system, heavy-duty trailer tow package with hitch guidance, 22-inch polished wheels, and front passenger interactive display screen complete the list.

On a side note, the only color that doesn’t cost extra is the two-tone white with the black roof. Every other choice adds $645 to the Grand Wagoneer’s bottom line.

Adding the $2,000 destination charge, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer costs $89,995. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $1,617. See 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer models for sale near you

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer includes:

  • Multi-talented front seats – The Grand Wagoneer’s front seats keep you warm in winter, cool in summer, and with their massaging features, stress-free year-round.
  • McIntosh audio – The 950-watt, 19-speaker McIntosh audio system sounds amazing and is an unexpected delight for an entry-level model.
  • Available Night Vision – This impressive option uses infrared cameras to highlight people and animals outside the headlights’ field of view, helping avoid potentially catastrophic collisions.

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II: $95,090, Grand Wagoneer L Series II: $98,080

The Series II elevates both performance and luxury, offering as standard the 510-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-6 engine and 22-inch polished wheels.

Inside, Palermo leather replaces Nappa, with the front passenger seat gaining a memory setting. Additional interior upgrades include a digital rearview mirror, a driver drowsiness monitor, traffic sign recognition technology, and an expanded interior color palette that includes Agave Blue and Tupelo/Black.

The Series II upgrades the Grand Wagoneer’s interior ambiance with a dark suede headliner and dark walnut wood interior accents.

In addition to the options noted for the Grand Wagoneer, the Series II offers the Obsidian Package that adds a 23-speaker, 1,375-watt Mcintosh Reference audio system, unique Piano Black exterior accents, and black interior elements.

Further distinguishing the Obsidian group is a front console cooler, ventilated rear seats, a passenger side interactive display, and 22-inch tinted polished wheels with black inserts.

Opting for the Obsidian Package opens the door to swapping out the 3.0-liter Hurricane engine with the 6.4-liter V8.

Adding the $2,000 destination charge, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II costs $97,090. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $1,745. See 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II models for sale near you

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series II includes:

  • Digital rearview mirror – This helpful feature replaces mirror glass with a digital screen hooked to a rear-facing camera. The image projected shows a wide field behind the vehicle, unincumbered by passengers or bulky cargo that would otherwise block the view.
  • Available Active Driving Assist – This semi-autonomous driving aid can brake, steer, and accelerate with little to no intervention from the driver. However, a hand must always remain on the steering wheel.
  • Available V8 engine – Offered when ordering the Obsidian Package, the 6.4-liter V8 isn’t as powerful or fuel-efficient as the Hurricane, but for some people, having a normally-aspirated V8 under the hood is just preferable.

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III: $107,995, Grand Wagoneer L Series III: $110,995

The Series III absorbs all the Series II standard equipment, plus the contents from the Convenience Group, including Active Driving Assist, a rear-seat monitor camera, intersection collision assist, and Night Vision.

The Series III then adds as standard the passenger-side interactive display, the 23-speaker McIntosh Reference audio system, and premium quilted Palermo leather upholstery in various colors.

The Obsidian Package can also be ordered with the Series III,  offering an available 6.4-liter V8 and more interior color choices than the Series II Obsidian package.

The only options are the aforementioned rear-seat entertainment system, heavy-duty trailer tow package, and second-row bench seat.

Adding the $2,000 destination charge, the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III costs $109,995. On a 60-month loan at 3% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to about $1,976. See 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III models for sale near you

2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Series III includes:

  • Quilted Palermo leather – The Series III’s quilted seat pattern adds an additional layer of elegance to an already stunning interior.
  • Rear seat monitor camera – A camera mounted in the headliner lets the driver keep an eye on little ones in the back seats that might be up to no good (like maybe sharing their candy with the family dog).
  • Intersection collision assist – This system can detect vehicles approaching from the left or right, such as when about to enter a 4-way intersection. It alerts the driver and can slow or stop the vehicle to prevent a collision.

FAQ

  • What is the best 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer trim?
