The EV6 is not Kia’s first electric model, but it is a revolutionary step into the future for the brand. This electric crossover competes with other relative newcomers in this growing segment like the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
With an impressive electric range, the latest tech features, and an available dual-motor powertrain, there’s a lot to like in this Kia for anyone interested in a practical electric vehicle.
For 2023, Kia has discontinued the EV6 Light, an entry-level rear-wheel-drive (RWD) model with a 195-kW battery, 167 horsepower, and a max range 232 miles.
New for 2023 is the Kia EV6 GT, an ultra-potent all-wheel-drive (AWD) model with 576 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of only 3.4 seconds. That’s supercar quick!
There are three distinct trims available for the 2023 Kia EV6 (Wind, GT-Line, GT), each with something different to offer. Let’s take a closer look at the EV6 model range and find the right electric SUV for you.

2023 Kia EV6 Wind: $48,700 (RWD), $52,600 (AWD)
The EV6 Wind is available with a single motor and rear-wheel drive (RWD) or with dual motors and all-wheel drive (AWD). Both are well-equipped.
Standard fare includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, taillights, and interior lights. Inside, you get a 12.3-inch curved digital gauge cluster, cloth and faux leather seats, a power driver’s seat with memory, heated front seats, reclining second-row seats, and automatic climate control.
The standard infotainment system features a 12.3-inch screen loaded with Bluetooth, SiriusXM, HD Radio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Other standard tech features include one USB-A and two USB-C ports in front, two USB-C ports in the back, and a wireless charging pad.
You also get Kia’s DriveWise driver-assistance suite. This includes blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, driver attention warning, lane-following assist, automatic high beams, a backup camera, rear occupant alert, forward and reverse automatic emergency braking, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and the Highway Driving Assist semi-autonomous driving system.
The single-motor version of the EV6 Wind makes 225 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque with a 310-mile range. Upgrade to AWD and get 320 horsepower, 446 lb-ft of torque, and a 282-mile range.
On top of that, the EV6 Wind trim offers a power liftgate, simulated leather seating, a power front passenger seat, ventilated front seats, a Meridian premium audio system, and front/rear parking sensors.
When you upgrade to the AWD model, there’s an available Technology Package. This further adds a 360-degree camera with parking collision avoidance assist, remote smart parking assist, and a Blind-Spot View Monitor, which displays a real-time video display in the gauge cluster when you operate the turn signal.
When you factor in the $1,325 destination fee, the 2023 Kia EV6 Wind has a total price of $50,025. A 60-month loan at 5% interest with $0 down would result in a monthly payment of about $944. See 2023 Kia EV6 Wind models for sale near you
2023 Kia EV6 Wind includes:
Available AWD — The available dual-motor AWD model delivers much better performance than the single-motor option.
Faux leather seats — These premium seats are heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable in front.
Meridian premium audio — This sublime audio system does justice to the high-tech infotainment system.
2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line: $52,900 (RWD), $57,600 (AWD)
The 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line starts at $52,700.
The GT-Line has a sporty appearance package, but it has the same mechanical options as the Wind trim. Get one with the single-motor, RWD powertrain, or the dual motor AWD setup with the same specs as the Wind models.
On top of that, standard features at this trim level include an auto pop-out flush door handle, a power sunroof, a flat-bottom steering wheel, an auto-dimming mirror with a universal garage door opener, auto evasive steering assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2 with auto lane-changing.
The contents of the Wind Technology Package also come standard on the GT-Line trim.
The single-motor version of the EV6 GT-Line Wind has a 310-mile range. With AWD, that drops to 252 miles.
With the $1,325 destination fee, the 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line costs $54,225. A 60-month loan at 5% interest with $0 down would cost about $1,023 a month. See 2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line models for sale near you
2023 Kia EV6 GT-Line includes:
Highway Driving Assist 2 — This system adds auto lane-changing to the standard semi-autonomous driving system on the EV6 Wind.
Sporty appearance — The GT-Line is much sportier looking than the EV6 Wind.
Power sunroof — This feature opens up the roomy interior of the EV6.
2023 Kia EV6 GT: $61,600
With the potent new 2023 Kia EV6 GT, we’ll let the specs do the talking:
Horsepower: 576. Torque: 545 lb-ft. 0-60 mph: 3.4 seconds. Top speed? 161 mph. Range: 206 miles.
Indeed, this new dual-motor Kia EV6 GT is supercar quick, giving up a bit of range for Lamborghini levels of performance.
To deal with that phenomenally high level of power, Kia equips the all-wheel-drive EV6 GT with sport suspension featuring shock absorbers with electronically controlled damping. It also gets an electronic limited-slip differential that directs power to the rear wheels with the best grip.
Also on duty in the new EV6 GT are huge 15-inch front brakes and large 14.2-inch rears, both featuring monoblock calipers. The 21-inch alloy wheels wear Z-rated Goodyear Eagle F1 tires.
The EV6 GT also adds a GT Drive Mode, My Drive Mode, and Drift Mode, to the Eco, Normal, Sport, and Snow modes already offered on the other EV6s. GT Drive Mode, the most dynamic setting, optimizes the motors, braking, steering, suspension, and e-diff for the absolute sharpest possible response. My Drive Mode allows the driver to set the various parameters individually.
Drift Mode, as you might expect, distributes more power to the rear wheels, which allows skilled drivers the chance to partake in some entertaining tail-out action (in closed-course environments only, of course).
The EV6 GT also gets unique front and rear styling, along with a unique rear spoiler and diffuser. Inside, high-bolstered sport seats are covered in a vegan suede with green piping and a GT moniker. Also unique are neon green dash accents and ambient lighting for the door panels, center console, and dash.
Like all other 2023 Kia EV6s, the EV6 GT can be recharged remarkably quickly. Kia says the EV6’s 800-volt multi-charging architecture enables a 350-watt DC charger to bring the EV6 battery from a 10% charge to an 80% charge in under 18 minutes.
With the $1,325 destination fee, the 2023 Kia EV6 GT costs $62,925. That means a 60-month loan at 5% interest with $0 down will cost about $1,187 a month. See 2023 Kia EV6 GT models for sale near you
2023 Kia EV6 GT includes:
Potent dual-motor powertrain — The dual-motor setup in the EV6 GT puts out a staggering 576 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque. That compares to 320 hp and 446 lb.-ft. in the dual-motor Wind and GT-Line models.
Vehicle-to-Load functionality — This V2L system allows the large EV6 GT battery to power everything from electrical appliances to home-improvement tools.
GT Mode — The EV6 GT has a GT Mode setting that puts many of the adjustable vehicle parameters (motors, suspension, braking, steering) immediately in their sportiest possible setting.
