2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class: Choosing the Right Trim

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a stalwart in midsize luxury cars. It’s a well-rounded luxury car that does nearly everything well. This midsize German sedan goes toe-to-toe with established rivals like the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6. However, it also competes with some relative newcomers, like the Genesis G80.

We expect the 2023 model year to be the swan song of the W213 generation of the E-Class. We’ve caught glimpses of camouflaged E-Class models that we expect to see in 2023 as 2024 models.

For 2023, the E-Class remains available in four distinct body styles; sedan, coupe, cabriolet, and wagon. For simplicity, we’ll focus primarily on the trim configurations and powertrains offered in the 4-door E-Class sedan.

2023 Mercedes-Benz E 350: $56,750

A turbocharged 4-cylinder engine powers the base E 350 model. It strikes a nice balance of power and efficiency at a reasonable price point. The 4-cylinder E 350 is a sensible choice for most luxury car drivers. It’s mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels.

Selective damping suspension and the Dynamic Select drive modes make the E-Class both comfortable and sporty. For example, Comfort mode is suitable for smooth sailing on the highway, while Sport mode provides added control during spirited driving.

The stylish E 350 comes standard with 18-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, and a sporty AMG Body Styling appearance package. A power sunroof and power-folding mirrors also come standard.

On the inside, you’re treated to a high level of luxury you’ve come to expect from the Mercedes-Benz brand. Standard features include MB-Tex faux leather seats, heated, power-adjustable front seats with memory, dual-zone automatic climate control, a universal garage door opener, push-button start, 64-color ambient lighting, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

The standard MBUX infotainment system has a vibrant 12.3-inch touchscreen. It responds to “Hey Mercedes” prompts with accurate voice control and comes with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and navigation.

Standard safety tech features on the E-Class include active brake assist, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive high beam assist, attention assist, and the Pre-Safe system, which automatically tightens the seatbelts and closes the windows if it detects a potential collision.

A popular option package for the E 350 is the Premium Package. It adds a 360-degree camera, SiriusXM, Parktronic with active parking assist, and a Burmester premium audio system. A Warmth & Comfort Package helps drivers in cold climates with a heated steering wheel, a heated armrest, and rapid heating functionality for the front seats.

If your budget allows, we recommend the Driver Assistance Package, which requires adding the Premium Package first. This option does what its name implies by adding many driver assistance features like active emergency stop assist, active steering assist, active speed limit assist, active lane-change assist, Distronic adaptive cruise control, route-based speed adaptation, and Pre-Safe Plus rear-end collision protection.

Just a few desirable individual options you can add include ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, massaging front seats, a head-up display, air suspension, a power rear sunshade, a wireless charging pad, and augmented video for the navigation system.

Multiple types of interior leather are available in colors like black, Nut Brown, Macchiato Beige, and Neva Grey. Available interior trims include burl walnut, brown ash, natural grain grey ash, and black piano lacquer with flowing lines.

Although the E-Class model range has four distinct body styles, the base E 350 is available exclusively as a sedan.

When you include the $1,150 destination fee, the starting price of the E 350 comes to $57,900. With a 60-month loan at 3% interest and no money down, your payment will be approximately $1,040 per month. See 2023 Mercedes-Benz E 350 models for sale near you
