The Taycan is mechanically similar to the Audi e-tron GT. A few advantages for the Porsche over the Audi are a lower starting price and more variety in its model range. In addition to its Audi cousin, the Taycan competes with the Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and Mercedes-EQ EQS Sedan.

2023 Porsche Taycan: $86,700
The standard electric powertrain in the Taycan is a single electric motor producing up to 402 horsepower when you use launch control. The range depends on the battery; according to the EPA estimates, it goes 208 miles on a full charge with the standard Performance Battery or 242 miles with the optional Performance Battery Plus ($5,780).
The base model of the Porsche Taycan is a surprising value. Value and Porsche rarely coexist in the same sentence, but the base Taycan undercuts most of its rivals on price.
However, don’t let its relative bargain pricing mislead you. This base model is a well-equipped luxury car. Standard features include 19-inch wheels, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), launch control, Sport and Range drive modes, LED headlights and taillights, partial leather upholstery, heated, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 16.8-inch curved digital gauge cluster, a wireless charging pad, and a universal garage door opener.
The standard infotainment system in the 2023 Taycan is a 10.9-inch infotainment system with navigation, HD Radio, SiriusXM, Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a 10-speaker audio system. It’s upgradeable with a front passenger screen, a rear entertainment system, a Bose 12-speaker audio system, or even a Burmester system with 21 speakers.
Standard safety and driver assistance tech features include front and rear parking sensors, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and rain-sensing wipers.
In classic Porsche fashion, the Taycan has an exhaustive options list. One of our favorite option packages is the Premium Package ($5,960), which includes a fixed panoramic glass roof, the Porsche Dynamic Light System, a memory driver’s seat, cooled front seats, a surround-view camera, power-folding mirrors, ambient interior lighting, and an interior air ionizer.
We also like the Technology Package ($5,300), adding a passenger screen, a head-up display, Remote Park Assist with lane-changing assist, and adaptive cruise control.
Enthusiasts will appreciate the Sport Chrono Package ($1,340), which adds Sport Plus and Individual drive modes, a GT sport steering wheel with a drive mode switch, and an analog/digital chronograph. Some individual performance options include 4-wheel steering, torque vectoring steering, adaptive air suspension, and ceramic-coated brakes with white calipers.
As for individual aesthetic options, they are seemingly endless. You have more than a dozen paint options (including some daring colors like Mamba Green and Frozen Berry), seven wheel designs, a wide range of interior material and color configurations including multiple leathers and Race-Tex, adaptive sport seats, a third rear seat, the SportDesign appearance package, Matrix Design headlights, and so much more.

2023 Porsche Taycan 4 Cross Turismo: $97,700
The Taycan 4 Cross Turismo reimagines this EV as a wagon with all-wheel drive (AWD). It gets extra ground clearance (and cargo space) and a unique body kit giving it a rugged yet premium look. It uses a dual-motor configuration making up to 469 hp and gets up to 235 miles of range.
The big jump in price over the base sedan isn’t just because of the wagon body and AWD. It also comes standard with the Performance Battery Plus (optional in the base model), a panoramic glass roof, and an adaptive air suspension.
Other than those significant differences, the standard and optional features of the Taycan 4 Cross Turismo are very similar to the base model. It does add the option of active roll stabilization.

2023 Porsche Taycan GTS: $134,100
The sporty and stylish Taycan GTS should be on the shopping list of any driving enthusiast craving an electric luxury car. Its dual-motor powertrain makes 590 hp, achieves a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, and is the most efficient and long-range model in the Taycan lineup. It’s rated at 83 combined MPGe and has 246 miles of range.
The Taycan GTS takes many of the performance options on the lower trims and makes them standard. These include the Performance Battery Plus, the Sport Chrono Package, the SportDesign appearance package, a sport-tuned adaptive air suspension, and torque vectoring steering.
