Never seeming to rest, the Ram product planners are sending the 2023 Ram ProMaster back into the fray with a styling update and new features. Among the most significant enhancements are a reworked front fascia with available LED headlights, Parallel/Perpendicular Park Assist, and a new, third, super-high roof height. The latter represents the best-in-class cargo volume and best-in-class cargo height.
But wait, there’s more. You can now opt for the new roll-up rear door to make deliveries easier. Of course, there’s the usual batch of fresh exterior colors and wheel designs.
We’ve always found much to like about the front-wheel-drive ProMaster. We appreciate its gutsy V6 engine, low load floor, state-of-the-art infotainment system, and wide variety of body lengths and configurations.
Ram lumps all its front-wheel-drive ProMaster vans together, whether they haul cargo, passengers, or some combination. Although there are multiple configurations, there is only one trim level. Pick a ProMaster configuration and dive into the options list if you want more than the features standard on every model.
A 280-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 engine powers every 2023 Ram ProMaster van. A 9-speed automatic transmission funnels output to the front wheels. When properly equipped, the ProMaster can tow up to 6,910 pounds with a maximum payload (cargo plus people) of 4,680 pounds.
Configurations
Ram has built remarkable versatility into the ProMaster, offering a wide variety of space and payload capacity options. You can choose among 13 configurations varying by class, wheelbase (WB), roof height, and passenger accommodations.
You can identify the payload differences by the ProMaster’s 1500 (4,000 pounds), 2500 (4,200 pounds), and 3500 (4,680 pounds) classifications.
The roofline heights are Low (66 inches), High (77 inches), and Super High (86 inches). Ram also offers three WB lengths: 118 inches, 136 inches, and 159 inches. The 159-inch WB has a regular-length body (236.2 inches), while the 159-inch WB EXT provides an extended-length body (250.6 inches).
Ram also offers the ProMaster as a Window Van, but with no seats.

Features and Options
Among the standard features on the 2023 Ram ProMaster are 16-inch wheels, cross-wind assist, a center-stack phone shelf, push-button start, and a 3.5-inch driver-information display. Also included are a rear backup camera, air conditioning, and power windows and door locks.
Ram includes a few advanced safety/driver-aid technologies. You get forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, a driver-awareness warning, and traffic-sign recognition. If you want blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and more, opt for the Safety Group ($1,645).
You can also add Parallel & Perpendicular Park Assist ($545), adaptive cruise control ($545), and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert ($595) as stand-alone options.
The standard infotainment interface is Uconnect 5. It comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth connectivity for two phones, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. If you want a 10.1-inch touchscreen and navigation, you can add the Premium Convenience Group B ($1,550). It also adds high-beam assist, auto on/off headlights, rain-sensing wipers, and more.
Several other option packages and stand-alone options help you outfit your ProMaster precisely as you want.
The Crew Van Package ($6,495) transforms the Cargo Van into the Crew Van, which has a second-row seat.
