Audi’s 2024 A5 line includes a sporty coupe, a soft-top convertible, a 4-door hatchback (called a Sportback), and high-performance S5/RS 5 variants. Three trims within each A5 grouping are Premium, Premium Plus, and Prestige. Only the high-performance RS 5 is omitted from this strategy, offering only one well-equipped trim.
Every A5 model comes standard with quattro all-wheel drive (AWD), giving it a leg up on competitors like the BMW 4 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Lexus IS.
While trim levels across the models remain largely the same, engine options differ widely. The A5 Sportback has a 201-horsepower turbocharged 2.0-liter engine (40 TFSI), while the A5 Coupe and Cabriolet get a 261-hp version of the same engine (45 TFSI) along with Audi’s S line appearance package. Buyers can upgrade the Sportback with the larger engine.
The S5 follows the A5 trim grades and Coupe/Cabriolet/Sportback body styles but comes with a more powerful 349-hp turbocharged V6.
The RS 5 comes in only one body style and trim powered by a 444-hp 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6.

What’s New:
For 2024, Audi adds adaptive cruise control, lane-centering, front and rear parking sensors, a heated steering wheel, and, except for the Sportback 40, remote start via the MyAudi app.
The A5’s available navigation system upgrades to include traffic sign recognition and predictive adaptive cruise control. Navigation-equipped cars also come with a 6-month trial subscription to Audi Connect Plus.

The Audi A5 Premium is well-equipped for an entry-level luxury car. The coupe and convertible come standard with the S Line appearance package and 18-inch alloy wheels with five double-spokes.

The A5 Premium’s cabin includes luxury amenities like leather upholstery, a power trunk release, 3-zone automatic climate control, heated 8-way-power front sport seats with 4-way power lumbar support, and a heated tilt/telescopic steering wheel with paddle shifters.
An auto-dimming interior rearview mirror includes a built-in toll module (not compatible with electronic toll metering systems in Louisiana, Oregon, Michigan, and Utah).
The Premium trim features a 7-inch digital display sandwiched between an analog speedometer and tachometer.
The Premium features a 10.1-inch touchscreen and Audi MMI (Multi-Media Interface) controller on the infotainment scene. The package includes wireless Apple CarPlay, wired Android Auto, Bluetooth, and a 10-speaker audio system.

The A5 Premium Sportback is the most affordable A5 model. That’s because it’s the only body style available with the base 40 TFSI powertrain. It has a 4-door body with a sloping roofline, a hatchback design, and a longer wheelbase. The result is much more rear-seat room and cargo space.
If you want the 45 TFSI powertrain and S Line appearance package that comes standard on the 2-door A5 models, that’s optional on the A5 Sportback at the same starting price as the A5 Coupe.
One option unique to the Sportback is rear side-impact airbags.
