The 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer has a lot going for it. In the looks department, it’s a home run, with eye-catching styling making it look larger than it is. Toss in optional all-wheel drive (AWD) and a choice of four distinctly different trims, and the Trailblazer speaks to a wide variety of subcompact SUV customers.
We like the Trailblazer for its robust safety features, reasonable pricing, and modern interior. Chevrolet offers the Trailblazer with two engines. The LS and LT front-wheel-drive (FWD) models get a 137-horsepower 1.2-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
Optional on the LS and LT and standard on the Activ, RS, and all models with AWD is a slightly larger 1.3-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder engine good for 155 hp. When equipped with AWD, a 9-speed automatic transmission replaces the CVT.
Both engines return respectable fuel economy and performance, keeping them on par with competitors like the Nissan Kicks, Honda HR-V, and Hyundai Kona.

For 2024, the Chevy Trailblazer gets a freshened exterior, with new wheels, colors, and grille treatments for the various trim levels. 2024 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS: $23,100
The entry-level LS trim appeals to budget-conscious buyers who don’t want to sacrifice style and comfort for a reasonable price. It comes standard with features like power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, cruise control, and a host of standard safety systems.
Chevrolet’s Safety Assist suite includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking for cars and pedestrians, lane-keeping assist with lane-departure warning, a following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam headlights.
Additional safety equipment counts full airbag coverage, including front seat knee airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Teen Driver, which lets parents set limits on certain features and guide young drivers toward better driving habits.
The LS rides on handsome 17-inch alloy wheels and features auto on/off LED headlights, power mirrors, and a rear wiper/washer.
Inside the LS, the cabin features cloth upholstery covering the manually adjustable front seats and 60/40-split folding rear seat. The LS’s front passenger seat can fold flat, increasing the length of available cargo space. A tilt/telescoping steering wheel makes it easy for drivers of all sizes to find a comfortable position.
The remote keyless entry system still requires holding the fob in hand to activate the system but includes a proximity detector for the push-button starter.
New this year is an 8-inch color digital instrument cluster and an 11-inch infotainment touchscreen.
