The 2024 Lexus UX is the brand’s littlest and most affordable vehicle, a subcompact hybrid SUV with a sporty look and impressive fuel economy at a price just about anyone can afford.
Lexus quality and resale are a big part of the UX story, giving it a leg up on competitors like the Volvo XC40, Audi Q3, and BMW X1.
The UX comes in four distinct trims, offering buyers differing levels of luxury and technology but the same 181-horsepower 4-cylinder hybrid engine, so there is no difference in performance. All UX models begin as front-wheel drive (FWD) but offer the option of all-wheel drive (AWD).
Prices provided are new car MSRP at the time of publishing.
What’s New
For 2024, a hands-free power liftgate is offered on all trims. Besides that, the 2024 UX carries over with no significant changes from the previous model year.

2024 Lexus UX 250h: $36,490 (FWD), $37,890 (AWD)
The entry-level UX 250h comes in at just over $360, including the destination charge. That’s a fantastic price, especially considering the price difference between the UX and non-luxury crossovers like the Subaru Crosstrek Limited is just a few thousand dollars.
The UX’s hybrid gas/electric powertrain is good for 181 hp. The 2.0-liter gas engine gets paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Fuel economy for the front-drive model is 42 mpg combined, while the AWD version gets a slightly lower 39 mpg combined.
A robust standard equipment list includes the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, which contains forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning.
Also part of the LSS+ 2.5 suite is a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights.
A quick walk around the UX exterior reveals 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-LED headlights, heated side mirrors, a rear backup camera, aluminum roof rails, a rear wiper/washer, and the Smart Access keyless entry system with a proximity key fob that only needs to be in a purse or pocket to gain entry to the UX.
Interior amenities include NuLuxe synthetic leather upholstery, 8-way power front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and Washi interior trim that mimics the grain pattern of Japanese paper. The base UX features a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift lever.
The UX features a 7-inch digital cluster display with a large central tachometer and speed readout. The screen is configurable, allowing the driver to see relevant information at the touch of a button.
The Drive Mode Select feature allows for various performance levels, with Sport, Normal, and Eco settings. An EV drive mode disengages the gas engine, allowing the UX to run solely on electric power for short distances at low speeds.
The base UX features an 8-inch multimedia touchscreen that gives access to wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 6-speaker AM/FM audio system featuring streaming Bluetooth and SiriusXM satellite radio.
The Lexus app features remote start, vehicle health reports, and even the ability to schedule service. You can power up devices via four USB-C ports or a 12-volt outlet.
Through the Lexus Drive Connect service, UX owners can upgrade with cloud-based navigation, the “Hey Lexus” intelligent assistant, and destination assist.
Although Lexus offers no packages for the UX 250h, several options exist. For just a bit more cash out of pocket, buyers can add a wireless charging pad, a color head-up display, a power moonroof, a front wiper blade de-icer, a hands-free foot-activated power liftgate, or parking sensors both front and rear.
With the $1,395 destination fee already figured in, the 2024 Lexus UX 250h costs $36,490. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment works out to $689. See 2024 Lexus UX 250h models for sale near you

2024 Lexus UX 250h Premium: $38,950 (FWD), $40,350 (AWD)
The Premium costs more than the base UX but is the better buy.
Building on the base model, the Premium adds heated and ventilated front seats, a hands-free power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, a power moonroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and color-key overfenders (the plastic trim around the wheel well openings).

2024 Lexus UX 250h F Sport Design: $38,950 (FWD), $40,350 (AWD)
You may notice the F Sport Design and Premium trim levels have identical price tags. The reason is the F Sport adds a few more features aimed at a sportier appearance while relegating some of the Premium trim’s standard equipment to the options list.
The F Sport Design adds unique 18-inch F Sport wheels, LED fog lights and cornering lights, auto-leveling headlights, a black-painted roof, plus unique F Sport bumpers and front grille.
The Premium’s power moonroof and rain-sensing wipers remain, but the hands-free power liftgate, auto-dimming mirror, and climate-controlled front seats are optional. Unlike the Premium, the F Sport Design does not offer the 12.5-inch touchscreen upgrade.

2024 Lexus UX 250h F Sport Handling: $43,920 (FWD), $45,320 (AWD)
Where the F Sport Design merely looks the part, the F Sport Handling brings real performance upgrades to the little UX.
Building off the F Sport Design and Premium trims, the Handling adds an Active Variable F Sport-tuned suspension with adaptive shock dampers that smooths rough roads and improve handling.
The F Sport Handling’s Drive Mode Select adds two new modes: Sport S and Sport S+.
Along with the F Sport Design’s styling, the Sport Handling adds power-folding side mirrors that tilt down in reverse and features an auto-diming driver’s mirror.
A sporty car needs more aggressive seats, so Lexus equips the Sport Handling with larger bolsters to hold you firmly in place. Additional interior upgrades include a perforated leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, unique NuLuxe upholstery design in black or red, aluminum pedals, an 8-inch performance configurable instrument cluster, and memory for the driver’s seat and outside mirrors.
Standard upgrades include the 12.3-inch touchscreen, 10-speaker premium audio, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
Options include a color head-up display, a hands-free power liftgate, parking sensors, a wireless charging pad, and a heated steering wheel.
