If you’ve got a big, travel-loving family, a minivan is still the best way to move them around. The Toyota Sienna remains one of the best minivans for the job. With 7- or 8-passenger seating, a standard hybrid powertrain, and available all-wheel-drive (AWD), the 2024 Toyota Sienna checks all the right boxes.
Toyota offers the Sienna in six trims. The LX and XLE appeal to budget-minded shoppers who still want a few perks. The XSE, Limited, and Platinum rachet up the feature set (and the price), while the off-road-capable Woodland is in a class by itself.
The front-drive-only Honda Odyssey and Kia Carnival reside in a small but equally impressive field of competitors. The Chrysler Pacifica, which offers AWD and a plug-in hybrid option, comes nowhere near the Sienna’s high resale figures.

For 2024, the Toyota Sienna XSE gets a new Premium Package. Additionally, the LE and XLE gain darkened headlight trim with chrome accents, while the XSE AWD and Woodland models feature wheels with a dark finish.
Our Recommendation:
The Sienna XLE’s combination of standard and available equipment, 7- or 8-passenger seating, and reasonable price make it our first choice. The XSE has the sportiest look and sport suspension, while the Platinum is loaded with high-tech features.

2024 Toyota Sienna LE: $37,185
If price is your priority, the Sienna LE deserves your attention. While not as well-equipped as the XLE, the LE has all the basics and a healthy helping of standard safety and driver-assist systems.
The LE shares the same 245-hp 2.5-liter hybrid gas/electric engine as the rest of the Sienna line, and it offers the option of all-wheel-drive, which adds another $2,000 to the bottom line.
Opting for AWD adds a second electric motor at the rear wheels, providing year-round driving confidence with only a 1-mpg reduction in city fuel economy.
As mentioned, the Sienna LE has an arsenal of standard safety systems, all part of Toyota Safety Sense 2.0. The mix includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and traffic sign recognition. Along with its 10 airbags, the Sienna LE has hill-start assist (keeps the vehicle from rolling backward when stopped on an incline), a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert with emergency braking, and individual tire pressure monitors.
A quick walk around the LE’s exterior reveals LED headlights and taillights, heated power side mirrors, dual power-sliding side doors, rear privacy glass, and a rear wiper/washer. There’s also a color-keyed rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels. The LE’s remote keyless entry uses a traditional key fob to lock and unlock the doors, enabling push-button start.
The LE’s cabin can seat up to eight passengers, with three-row seating covered in durable cloth fabric. The driver enjoys an 8-way power seat, while the second row includes a 3-person split-bench seat with sliding fore/aft outboard seats and a stowable center seat. The 60/40-split folding third-row seat stows in the floor well when not needed.
LE owners enjoy tri-zone automatic climate control with a second-row control panel, manual second-row sunshades, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and one-touch auto up/down power windows. The cabin has six USB charge ports, including two in the rear seat. However, there is only one USB-A data port.
The LE’s infotainment system comprises a 9-inch color touchscreen, a 6-speaker AM/FM radio, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Android Auto, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Also included is a 1-year trial subscription to Toyota’s Safety Connect with automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle locator, and more.
Buyers can also opt for a Wi-Fi hot spot (subscription required after the 3-month trial ends).
Every Sienna comes with ToyotaCare, which covers all factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles.
The LE has several options, mostly bundled into the LE Plus Package. They include a wireless charging pad, a power moonroof, and an 8-speaker radio. LE buyers can also opt for roof rails and a compact spare tire (which replaces the tire repair kit).

Building off the LE, the XLE adds integrated wide-angle LED fog lights, hands-free dual power sliding side doors (opens and closes the doors by kicking your foot just below the door), a power liftgate, front and rear parking sensors with automatic braking, and a power moonroof.
Toyota’s Smart Key keyless entry comes standard. With the key fob in your purse or pocket, touching any door handle will lock or unlock the van.
The XLE upgrades to 4-zone automatic climate control, SofTex vinyl upholstery, heated front seats, a 4-way power passenger seat, an 8-speaker radio, and Remote Connect and Service Connect apps trial subscriptions.
Options for the XLE beyond 7-passenger seating and AWD include the XLE Plus Package with a wireless charging pad, black roof rails, Dynamic Navigation, and a 12-speaker JBL audio system with a powered subwoofer.
