It’s wise to consider a certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle when shopping for a used car, truck, minivan, or SUV. Better still, you can choose any of the four vehicle categories if you’re considering purchasing a used and well-maintained Stellantis vehicle.
In the U.S., Stellantis’s CPO program includes Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. Every eligible Stellantis CPO vehicle must be no more than 5 years old and have no more than 75,000 miles on its odometer. Let’s look at some of the highlights of this CPO program.
Added Warranty Coverage
Additional warranty coverage is one of the biggest perks when shopping for a certified pre-owned car or truck. In addition to the vehicle’s original warranty, every Stellantis CPO vehicle receives a 3-month/3,000-mile comprehensive warranty that takes effect at the time of purchase or when the vehicle’s original warranty expires. The warranty covers most typical problem areas, but owners must pay a deductible with each repair visit.
Also included is a 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Keep in mind this runs from the car’s original sale date, not its CPO sale date. The Stellantis program offers three powertrain warranty upgrades: Powertrain Care, Added Care, and Maximum Care. These come into effect on the date the plan is purchased.
Vehicle Inspection and History
All Stellantis CPO vehicles must pass a 125-point quality inspection performed by a certified mechanic. The checklist includes items like belts, hoses, brakes, and tires, to name a few. Any needed repairs are done with factory-authorized parts, too.
Like other CPO programs, Stellantis also ensures the vehicle has a clean Carfax report.
Roadside Assistance and Trip Interruption Reimbursement
Stellantis provides 24-hour roadside assistance should a CPO customer need help with a flat tire, a dead battery, or an empty gas tank. This program, called “Sign and Go,” covers up to $100 in expenses per occurrence.
Added benefits should you encounter problems on the road include rental car reimbursement of $35 per day for a maximum of five days. This benefit can also be applied to a taxi ride instead.
