The Subaru Outback was completely redesigned last year, and now it's a little bigger than before. As always, the Outback is a great alternative for those who need all weather or mild off-road ability, but don't want a full size SUV. So here are five reasons to buy the 2011 Subaru Outback:

  1. Interior space: If you've been inside a Subaru Outback in the past, you may have found it a bit tight inside. That's because the old Outback was basically a compact wagon with big tires and some rugged exterior details. Today's Outback is much larger and more spacious. The Outback has plenty of rear seat legroom and lots of cargo space; fold the rear seats down and you get more storage space than a Nissan Murano or Ford Edge.
  2. Powertrain Choices: Outback buyers have a choice of two engines, a 170 hp, 2.5 liter flat four or a 256 hp, 3.6 liter flat six. Both are smooth and responsive however the smaller engine gets slightly better fuel economy. We wouldn't call the 2.5 liter version underpowered, but the six cylinder engine is noticeably more powerful. The 3.6 liter engine is also a little quieter since it doesn't have to work as hard to move the car.
  3. Generous Safety Features: It's nice to have safety features you can opt for, but it's even better to get them as part of the car's base price. All Outback models include all-wheel drive, stability and traction control, front side airbags and side curtain airbags as standard equipment.
  4. Excellent Sound System: Standard on the Limited, but optional on other versions of the Outback is a terrific sounding, nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
  5. And finally, the fifth reason to but the 2011 Subaru Outback is its off-road ability thanks to 8.7 inches of ground clearance and an excellent all-wheel drive system.

So that's it; five reasons to buy the 2011 Subaru Outback. Its roomy interior, notable safety features and off-road ability all add up to a crossover wagon that's a great SUV alternative.
