Tesla is an all-new car company that has turned traditional automaking -- and even traditional car-dealership practices -- upside down. Tesla is headquartered in California, where it makes one car: the all-electric Model S sedan (a crossover Model X is upcoming). Yes, it is a plug-in, but it's also a hot, sporty sedan that can take you up to 265 miles on a single battery charge and to a top speed of 130 miles per hour. It has amenities such as a 17-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an all-glass panoramic roof, and optional rear-facing seats that make this sedan a 7-seater. BMW, Infiniti, Lexus and Porsche all have their own hybrid luxury cars, but the Model S is so innovative that it's really hard to compare it to anything else on the market right now. You can only buy a Tesla from Tesla stores, which are company-owned and not traditional dealerships, and you won't be getting any deals on one. In fact, there's likely to be a wait.
