CPO Deals: May 2015

If you’re interested in buying a used car, you might want to consider a certified pre-owned (CPO) model. Certified pre-owned cars offer manufacturer-backed warranties for extra peace of mind, and while they’re often more expensive than traditional used cars, they sometimes come with special deals and incentives. We’ve rounded up some of the best of those CPO deals available through the end of May.

Cadillac

Shoppers interested in a certified pre-owned Cadillac can get a good deal on the brand’s many desirable models through the end of this month. Cadillac says that qualified drivers can take advantage of interest rates as low as 0.9 percent for up to 36 months on all CPO models. If that’s not enough for you, consider this: Cadillac’s excellent certified pre-owned warranty touts 6 years or 70,000 miles of powertrain coverage, along with no deductible, full transferability and 3-month trials of OnStar and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Chevrolet Cruze and Sonic

Chevrolet’s certified pre-owned warranty offers 5 years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage from the original sale date. It also boasts a 1-year or 12,000-mile bumper-to-bumper plan that starts when the original bumper-to-bumper warranty expires. In May, there’s yet another reason to consider Chevrolet’s CPO warranty: Through the end of the month, the automaker is offering 1.9 percent interest for up to 36 months on all certified pre-owned Sonic and Cruze models. This is essentially a new-car rate and warranty without new-car prices.

Infiniti

Infiniti’s certified pre-owned warranty offers 6 years or 100,000 miles of coverage from the car’s original sale date. It also boasts a comprehensive 167-point inspection and available transferability, should you decide to sell your CPO Infiniti before your warranty expires. This month, there’s even more: Through the end of May, Infiniti is offering qualified shoppers 0.99 percent interest on its certified pre-owned vehicles for up to 36 months, which is a good deal that’s hard to match, even on a new car.

Jaguar

Jaguar’s certified pre-owned program is one of our favorites, as it touts 6 years or 100,000 miles of coverage, no deductible and full transferability, should you decide to sell your CPO Jaguar before the warranty expires. In May, the program also offers several excellent interest rates to qualified buyers on a wide range of used Jaguar models. The best deal is on 2011 and 2012 XF, XJ and XK models, as Jaguar is touting 0.9 percent interest on each for up to 60 months, which isn’t bad for a used car. If you’d rather have a 2013 or a 2014 model, expect your rates to rise to a still-alluring 1.9 or 2.9 percent.

Land Rover

We really like Land Rover’s certified pre-owned warranty, largely due to its excellent coverage: 6 years or 100,000 miles from the vehicle’s original sale date. There are some other benefits, too, such as no deductible and full transferability, in case you decide to sell your Land Rover before your warranty has expired. This month, there’s another reason to choose a certified pre-owned Land Rover: Qualified shoppers can take advantage of interest rates as low as 0.9 percent for up to 24 months or 2.9 percent for up to 60 months, which are both impressive terms for a pre-owned vehicle.

Mercedes-Benz

Through the end of the month, Mercedes-Benz has an excellent incentive available to qualified shoppers on a wide range of its certified pre-owned vehicles. The deal touts 0.99 percent interest for up to 36 months, and it applies to Mercedes’ most popular sedans (the C-, E- and S-Class), along with the most popular SUVs (the GLK, M-Class and GL-Class). If you’re not convinced, consider this: Mercedes’ CPO warranty boasts one year of unlimited-mile, bumper-to-bumper coverage, and it can be renewed for years after that.

Nissan

Nissan’s certified pre-owned program provides a generous powertrain warranty: 7 years or 100,000 miles from the date the car was originally sold. The warranty also boasts a free SiriusXM trial, a CARFAX report and 24-hour roadside assistance. Through the end of May, Nissan is sweetening the deal with two enticing special offers: For qualified shoppers looking to finance, Nissan is offering 0.9 percent interest for up to 36 months, and drivers can also get up to $500 cash back when they finance through Nissan. We think the 0.9 percent offer is likely the better deal.

Subaru

Subaru’s certified pre-owned program offers powertrain warranty coverage for up to 7 years or 100,000 miles from the car’s original sale date. It’s also fully transferable in case you sell your car before coverage expires, and there’s no deductible for repairs. That makes it a great warranty in our book, and it’s even better with an incentive that’s available to qualified shoppers through the end of May. The incentive touts 0.99 percent interest for up to 36 months on all 2010-2015 CPO Subaru models. This is a great deal on a pre-owned car, especially considering the peace of mind that Subaru’s certified pre-owned warranty provides.
