Better yet, some automakers offer CPO deals and incentives to make their certified models even more appealing — so we’ve rounded up the best deals and incentives available through the end of September on some of our favorite CPO programs and vehicles.
The BMW i3 is an electric or partially electric hatchback with futuristic styling and highly unusual materials, both inside and out. Meanwhile, BMW’s CPO program offers a year of comprehensive warranty coverage, while shoppers can extend coverage at an extra cost. This month, BMW is offering excellent incentives on certified pre-owned i3 models. Through the end of the month, BMW is touting 1.99 percent interest on all certified pre-owned 2015 and 2016 i3 models for up to 24 months — an enticing deal on a car whose values are already highly alluring on the used market.
Cadillac ATS, Escalade, and SRX
Cadillac’s certified pre-owned program is among our favorites, as it offers comprehensive coverage for up to six years or 100,000 miles, which is an exceptionally long term in the luxury car world. This month, Cadillac’s CPO program is even more alluring thanks to special incentives offered on the ATS entry-level luxury car, the Escalade SUV and the SRX crossover. Through September 13, qualified shoppers who choose a CPO version of one of those models can get 2.9 percent interest for up to 36 months, which is a good term for a used vehicle.
Ford’s certified pre-owned program offers excellent coverage, touting seven years or 100,000 miles of powertrain protection, in addition to an additional year of comprehensive coverage. While the program’s $100 deductible is higher than other brands’ deductibles, Ford makes up for it this month with some enticing offers: Through the end of September, Ford is touting low interest rates for qualified shoppers, boasting 1.9 percent interest for up to 36 months, 2.9 percent for up to 60 months or 3.9 percent for up to 72 months — all excellent terms on used vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz certified pre-owned program offers one year of comprehensive coverage added on to the end of a car’s original comprehensive warranty — and shoppers looking for more coverage can buy it at an additional cost. This month, Mercedes-Benz is offering a great incentive for qualified shoppers interested in a CPO vehicle: Through the end of September, drivers can get 1.99 percent interest for up to 48 months on most CPO models, including the CLA, the C-Class, the E-Class, the GLK, the GLC and more.
Nissan Altima and Rogue
Nissan’s certified pre-owned program offers seven years or 100,000 miles of powertrain coverage from the car’s original sale date, which is a good figure that provides a lot of peace of mind. Although Nissan’s CPO program doesn’t include any additional comprehensive coverage over the factory warranty, it offers an excellent incentive this month on the Altima and Rogue: Through the end of the month, qualified shoppers can get a certified pre-owned Altima or Rogue with 2.99 percent interest for up to 60 months — a new-car financing term on a used model.
Subaru’s certified pre-owned program touts additional powertrain coverage over the factory warranty, boasting coverage for seven years or 100,000 miles from the original sale date. Although we’d prefer to also see an extended version of the comprehensive warranty, we appreciate Subaru’s incentives this month on its CPO vehicles: Through the end of the month, shoppers interested in a certified pre-owned Subaru can get 1.99 percent interest for up to 36 months, which is an appealing deal — especially when you consider the discounted pricing of a CPO model compared to a new one, and the longer powertrain warranty.
The Toyota Camry is a highly popular midsize sedan known for its excellent reliability, roomy interior and reasonable pricing. For shoppers who nonetheless want the peace of mind that comes with a long warranty, Toyota is offering an alluring incentive on certified pre-owned Camry models: Through the end of the month, CPO Camry models offer 3.9 percent interest for up to 60 months, which is a desirable rate over a long term. For drivers who would prefer something a little smaller, Toyota is also offering the same deal on the Corolla.
Volvo S90 Inscription and V60 Cross Country
Volvo’s certified pre-owned program is among the best in the industry, offering seven years or 100,000 miles of comprehensive coverage from the original sale date. In September, Volvo is sweetening the pot with an impressive offer for shoppers interested in a certified pre-owned S90 Inscription sedan or V60 Cross Country. Through the end of the month, shoppers who buy a certified pre-owned S90 Inscription can get 0 percent interest for up to 24 months, while buyers who choose a certified pre-owned V60 Cross Country can get 0 percent interest for up to 36 months — excellent terms for used vehicles.
