You’re looking at the highest-mileage V12-powered vehicle listed for sale on Autotrader. It’s a 1993 BMW 750iL, and it’s covered just under 182,000 miles since it was sold new. Naturally, the engine has been rebuilt — but that’s pretty much what you’d expect from a 25-year-old V12-powered BMW, right?
This 750iL is offered for sale by a private seller in Minneapolis, and it’s listed for $6,000. The condition seems unusually nice, despite the mileage; the body looks fine, with some light rust spots here and there, and the interior appears to have held up well, despite the age and miles. More importantly, the V12 was recently rebuilt, with a long list of new parts detailed by the seller in the ad — no surprise, given the high cost of ownership for V12-powered vehicles.
As for the history on this 750iL, the private seller says it was originally a BMW corporate car before the second owner purchased it in 1994. That second owner had the car all the way until 2015, adding roughly 175,000 miles over that time — and taking good care of it. The current owner, the third, has had the 750iL ever since and notes a long list of new features (and working parts) in the ad.
Although a high-mileage V12 might not be the most appealing car if you’re looking for something practical and economical, you’ve got to admit there’s some appeal here: both in owning a V12, and in seeing just how much life is left in this 750iL. Find a BMW 750il for sale

That is a lot of gas that thing has consumed
Eh, that’s only because I’ve never listed any of my cars on Autotrader. I sold a 1995 750il with 188k miles on a fully original engine and transmission a few years back. It’s still running with its current owner, around 219k miles last I checked. The M73 V12 in the 1995-2001 7-series fixed a lot of the things that were wrong with the earlier V12, and they’ve been known to be quite reliable. Especially since they didn’t have the chain guide issues or Vanos issues of the V8-powered 7-series of that time.
Don’t give Tyler Hoover any ideas! /jk
This ought to be right up Hoovie’s alley. If the F355 doesn’t finish him after the Bentley Continental credit card, uhh, incidents.
I am sure he has already made a offer on it haha
