Many of you know that I am a relentlessly obsessive fan of the television show Gilmore Girls, as I believe it is the finest show ever created with the possible exception of my YouTube channel. And if Gilmore Girls ever had an Aston Martin, well then, it might just take the lead.
Because of my Gilmore Girls enthusiasm, I’ve spent a lot of time wondering where one of the show’s primary stars ended up. No, not Kirk, or Taylor, or Miss Patty or Rory’s best boyfriend (#TeamLogan). I am referring to the Jeep Wrangler famously driven by Lorelai Gilmore in virtually every one of the show’s 153 episodes. (TRIVIA: Except the very first episode, where she drives an older model.) See the 2000 Jeep Wrangler models for sale near you
So I did a little digging and I discovered that the Jeep — a 2000 model with only studio lot 2,845 miles — was auctioned off as a souvenir in 2011, four years after the show ended, and it hasn’t publicly resurfaced since. I figured this would be the end of my quest: It’s in the hands of some private collector now; some lucky soul who walks out to the garage and occasionally inspects the paint for the dent from that time a deer ran into Rory as she was driving to school.
And then, a few months ago, I found a picture of it from the eBay auction, when it was fitted with its legitimate California license plate, rather than a Connecticut prop license plate from the characters’ idyllic home of Stars Hollow. So I did what any rational person would do: I purchased a Carfax subscription just so I could run the license plate number and find out what happened to it.
And do you know where the Lorelai Gilmore Jeep Wrangler is? Auctioned off to the whole world — possibly the largest and most significant souvenir from one of the most popular modern television shows in the last two decades — available to be purchased by any Gilmore Girls fan across the vast reaches of the globe. Do you know where it ended up?
It’s in Deep River, Connecticut, population 4,600, which is governed by a town selectman and includes a quaint central square with a Main Street and a small diner.
In other words: the Gilmore Girls Jeep Wrangler now actually lives in Stars Hollow.
Let’s hope it still makes those weekly trips to Hartford for family dinner. Find a 2000 Jeep Wrangler for sale

I am more interested to find out where Luke’s C20 Camper Special ended up! It is my goal to find one and paint it green to copy that truck!
I know this article is a few years old but I thought I’d add to it a bit…The Warner Bros studio tour has been hosting a Gilmore event over the Christmas holiday titled “Lunch at Lorelais”. It takes place on the lawn of the house facade and features a number of costumes, props and the Jeep used in the latest reboot. It seemed to be very popular during it’s 2 week run. If it’s popular enough they’d consider doing it again, I’m sure.
