If you’re disappointed by how expensive new cars are getting, a used car might be the answer. But if you’re worried about costly repairs and maintenance, you may want to consider a certified pre-owned car, which comes with a manufacturer-backed warranty and other perks. In our latest video, we’re taking a look at Nissan’s CPO program to see what it offers.
Nissan calls its CPO program “Intelligent Selection.” Before a vehicle can qualify for Nissan’s used-car certification, it must meet several requirements. First, there’s a thorough check of the car’s title and accident history to make sure there’s no unseen flood, fire, or frame damage. Nissan also requires that a car be 6 years old or newer and have fewer than 80,000 miles on the odometer before it can be certified. Finally, Nissan technicians do a thorough inspection of the car inside and out.
Once a car has passed Nissan’s certification process, it receives the brand’s CPO warranty, which extends the original factory powertrain warranty to 7 years from the original sale date or 100,000 total vehicle miles. Drivers can also purchase additional coverage through Nissan’s optional Security Plus extended protection plan.
If you have an issue with your certified Nissan, there’s a $50 deductible, and you can take it to any dealer across the country. And there are a wide range of perks, including 24-hour roadside assistance, new-car financing rates, a 3-month trial subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio, and for covered repairs, rental-car reimbursement and limited trip-interruption reimbursement.
While a certified pre-owned Nissan may cost a bit more than a normal used car, it offers extra peace of mind — and for many drivers, that’s worth the added expense. Find a CPO Nissan for sale
