- 2019 Chevrolet Colorado LT - For most drivers, the LT trim is in the sweet spot in the Colorado lineup for its balance of features, value, and capability.

- 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 - The Colorado ZR2 is for the enthusiast looking for the ultimate off-road midsize pickup from the factory.
2019 Chevrolet Colorado Overview - The Chevrolet Colorado is an excellent midsize pickup truck. It’s a well-rounded truck that does nearly everything well. It’s smaller and more efficient than a full-size truck like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 but still has useful capabilities from its robust range of engines. The Colorado is up against some tough competition like the fan-favorite Toyota Tacoma and the Ford Ranger, re-introduced in the U.S. in 2019. Also, consider the GMC Canyon, which is mechanically identical to the Colorado, but with a slightly different model range. The Colorado has three available engines: an affordable and efficient 2.5-liter inline-4, a more powerful and capable 3.6-liter V6, and a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel inline-4 with tons of torque and capable of towing up to 7,700 pounds.
What is the best 2019 Chevrolet Colorado trim? - For most drivers, the value-packed LT trim is in the sweet spot in the Chevy Colorado lineup.
How many mpg does the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado get? - The Colorado gets up to 20 city/26 highway mpg with the base inline-4 engine, 18 city/25 highway mpg with the V6, and 20 city/30 highway mpg with the Duramax turbo-diesel. With every engine, adding 4WD comes with a slight fuel economy penalty.
Which 2019 Chevrolet Colorado trim level offers the most safety? - The Colorado LT with the available Safety Package is the safest because it has lane-departure warning, forward-collision alert, and rear parking sensors. The Colorado gets a 4-star overall safety rating from the NHTSA.
2019 Chevrolet Colorado WT - There is a base trim of the Colorado, but it’s essentially a commercial truck, and you won’t find many for sale on the used market. The base trim is only available with an extended cab, a long bed, the base engine with a manual transmission, and no back seats. For most drivers looking for a no-nonsense pickup, the WT (Work Truck) trim is the model to get. It’s available with an extended cab or crew cab, and you get your choice of the base inline-4 engine or the brawny V6. A manual transmission is optional with the 4-cylinder engine, but most models you find will be automatic. Standard features in the WT trim include vinyl upholstery, a power driver’s seat, a CornerStep rear bumper, power windows, and air conditioning. You might be surprised by some of the tech features you get in this work truck. It comes standard with a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, a backup camera, and two USB ports. It also comes with the Teen Driver safety system. A few option packages for the WT trim make it more appealing. A WT Convenience Package adds remote keyless entry, a theft-deterrent system, cruise control, and an EZ Lift & Lower tailgate. A WT Appearance Package makes the truck look nicer with 16-inch aluminum wheels, power mirrors, body-color door handles and rear bumper, and chrome beltline moldings. On the practical side, there’s an available Z82 Trailering Package. Key features of the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado WT include:
- Two engine options - You get your choice of an affordable and fuel-efficient inline-4 or a more robust and capable V6.
- Android Auto and Apple CarPlay - These smartphone connectivity features are convenient, even in a work truck.
- Option packages - A few option packages like a Convenience Package and Appearance Package add extra appeal to this humble truck.
2019 Chevrolet Colorado LT - The mid-range LT trim is the best value for most truck shoppers. It strikes a satisfying balance of features, value, and capability, plus plenty of available options. For example, this is the lowest trim of the Colorado with all three engines available; the base inline-4, the V6, or the Duramax turbo-diesel. The LT trim comes standard with many of the WT Convenience Package and WT Appearance Package contents, like remote keyless entry, cruise control, power mirrors, chrome beltline moldings, and a body-color rear bumper. Other standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, OnStar, rear USB ports, a multi-color driver information screen, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, and a 6-way power driver’s seat. The LT trim and up have an 8-inch infotainment screen with an HD backup camera, SiriusXM, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. Some desirable option packages available for the LT trim include the LT Convenience Package, which adds fog lights, heated mirrors, remote start, an EZ Lift & Lower tailgate, and a sliding rear window. A Safety Package adds safety tech features like forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, and rear parking sensors. For a more premium truck, add the Luxury Package, which adds chrome exterior trim, projector-beam headlights, a power front passenger seat, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, automatic climate control, and an auto-dimming mirror. The sporty Redline Edition is a package available exclusively for the LT trim. It’s an appearance package with black exterior trim, 18-inch black wheels with red accents, and red recovery hooks. A Redline Luxury Special Edition Package adds many of the contents of the Luxury Package but with the Redline aesthetic. Key features of the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado LT include:
- 8-inch infotainment system - This system has a bigger HD screen than the one in the WT model and comes with SiriusXM and 4G LTE Wi-Fi.
- Creature comforts - This trim comes standard with cruise control, remote keyless entry, and rear USB ports.
- Available diesel - This is the most affordable trim of the Colorado available with the capable Duramax turbo-diesel engine.
2019 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 - The Z71 trim makes the Colorado a good off-roader while also comfortable and practical enough to use as a daily commuter. Like the LT trim, it’s available with all three engines. Off-road upgrades to the Z71 trim include an off-road suspension, an automatic locking rear differential, hill descent control, and front recovery hooks. Models equipped with 4WD have a transfer case shield. Other excellent standard features on the Z71 trim include fog lights, heated mirrors, an EZ Lift & Lower tailgate, black beltline moldings, automatic climate control, remote start, heated, power-adjustable front seats, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, and a sliding rear window. Other than the Z28 Trailering Package, the only other option package available for the Z71 trim is the Midnight Special Edition. As its name implies, it’s essentially an appearance package with lots of black trim plus a spray-in bed liner. Key features of the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado Z71 include:
- Off-road upgrades — The Z71 comes standard with an automatic locking rear differential, an off-road suspension, hill descent control, and other off-road goodies.
- Heated seats — This is an essential feature in a cold climate.
- Wireless charging — Charge your phone without fussing with wires.
2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 - The Colorado ZR2 is the ultimate off-roader in the Colorado model range. It’s the only Colorado that comes standard with 4-wheel drive, the trailering package, and the V6 engine. The Duramax diesel is optional, and it makes an extra five horsepower in the ZR2 than it does in the lower trims. The ZR2 also comes with an aggressive appearance package, an off-road suspension with a Multimatic DSSV damping system, increased ground clearance and track width, a transfer case shield, driver-selectable full locking front and rear differentials, leather seats with the ZR2 logo. The ZR2 comes with most of the interior creature comforts that the Z71 model has, but it doesn’t have rear parking sensors. Key features of the 2019 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 include:
- Multimatic DSSV damping system — This clever suspension system makes the ZR2 comfortable on-road and capable off-road without compromise.
- Locking differentials — Driver-controlled full locking front and rear differentials contribute to the excellent off-road capabilities of the ZR2.
- Appearance package — This aggressive appearance package shows the world the adventurous intentions of the Colorado ZR2.
