- 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude - The Latitude offers the basics for those who need to keep costs down but still want the look and feel of a capable Jeep SUV.
- 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus - The Latitude Plus appeals to buyers who still need to watch the bottom line but want the option for more convenience and safety features, as well as more engine and 4WD choices.

- 2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk - Jeep built the Cherokee Trailhawk for those who like to get dirty on the weekend. It’s the only compact crossover in this price range that can genuinely tackle Wrangler-like off-road trails.
- 2019 Jeep Cherokee Overland - The Overland is for the cream of the crop. It combines Jeep’s best luxury features and drivetrains, then tosses in a few more unique features like Zebrano wood trim, a heated rear seat, and Cattle Tan Nappa leather seating.
2019 Jeep Cherokee Overview -For those looking for a sporty and capable small SUV, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee has much to offer. Numerous trims, engine choices, and options mean there’s a Cherokee for just about every need. There’s also no equal to the Trailhawk trim’s off-road ability, not even the Toyota RAV4 Adventure. Conversely, crossovers like the Honda CR-V, Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4 have better resale and reliability numbers, with the 2019 Jeep Cherokee average reliability scores. For 2019, the Jeep Cherokee offers three engine options: a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder, a normally-aspirated 2.4-liter 4-cylinder, and a 3.2-liter V6. 4-wheel drive is available with all three engines, but regardless of choice, the only transmission is a somewhat dubious 9-speed automatic that has proven problematic for Jeep owners.
What is the best 2019 Jeep Cherokee trim? - The Latitude Plus with a few option packages makes the most sense for those not interested in hardcore off-roading. It offers two sound 4WD systems plus the option of more powerful engines was priced in the $30K range when new. However, if you’re thinking about hitting the trails, there is no substitute for the Cherokee Trailhawk.
How many mpg does the 2019 Jeep Cherokee get? - For the Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Limited with the 2.4-liter engine and front-wheel drive, expect fuel economy figures around 22-mpg city and 31-mpg highway. 4WD models earn 21-mpg city and 29-mpg highway. The 2.0-liter turbo engine achieves 23-city/31-hwy but varies when adding 4WD. The 2.0-liter with the Active Drive I gets 21-city/29-hwy. With Active Drive II, it gets 20-city/27-hwy, and with the Trailhawk’s Active Drive Lock, you’re looking at 20-city/26-hwy. Finally, the 3.2-liter V6 earns 20-city and 29-hwy with front-drive. 4-wheel drive figures are 19-city/27-hwy with Active Drive I, 18-city/26-hwy with Active Drive II, and 18-city/24-hwy with Active Drive Lock.
Which 2019 Jeep Cherokee offers the most safety? - Without any additional driver-assists, the 2019 Jeep Cherokee scores 4 out of 5-Stars in government crash tests and gets a Good rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, which also rated it a Top Safety Pick. If you want more helpful driver aids, you’ll need to opt for the Limited with the Technology Group.
