Which 2019 Nissan Rogue trim is best for you?
- 2019 Nissan Rogue S - With the S grade, Nissan targets buyers who want more than the basic convenience and safety features for a relatively low price.
- 2019 Nissan Rogue SV - Buyers looking for a wide range of convenience and safety features should gravitate to the Rogue SV. Features like a hands-free power liftgate, keyless entry with push-button start, and dual-zone automatic climate control add real value to the SV.
- 2019 Nissan Rogue SV Hybrid - Buyers who want the content of the SV but with better fuel economy will appreciate the SV Hybrid.
- 2019 Nissan Rogue SL - Nissan targets Rogue buyers who want the whole enchilada. Features like ProPilot, leather seating, and a 9-speaker Bose audio system elevate the SL above the other trim levels.
- 2019 Nissan Rogue SL Hybrid - Buyers who want the SL but would like better fuel economy can get it in the SL Hybrid for a measly $150 more than the standard SL. What’s not to like?
2019 Nissan Rogue Overview - The 2019 Nissan Rogue returns with a fleshed-out list of driver aids like lane-departure warning with steering, high-beam assist, and more. We like Rogue for its affordable pricing, comprehensive bundle of driver aids, and handsome styling. Nissan breaks the Rogue into three trim levels: S, SV, and SL. Additionally, Nissan offers Rogue with a gasoline-fueled engine or a hybrid (HEV) system in the SV and SL. Both powertrains include an automatic transmission to deliver torque for front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). AWD was a $1,350 upcharge available across the trim-level lineup. The gasoline-fueled engine is a 170-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder. Its government-estimated combined city and highway fuel economy is 29 mpg with FWD. Opting for AWD knocks that number down to 27 mpg. Powering the HEV is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with a 30 kW electric motor. Together they generate 175 hp. The combined mileage with FWD is 34 mpg. For AWD, it’s 33 mpg.
Which is the best 2019 Nissan Rogue trim? - The best value among the Rogue trims is the SV. It’s well stocked with convenience and technology features, yet is less than $1,500 more than the base S trim. We’d add the Premium Package to pick up a surround-view camera and ProPilot assist.
Which 2019 Nissan Rogue Trim has the best miles per gallon? - Either the SV Hybrid or the SL Hybrid provide the best fuel economy. With FWD, the mileage is 33 mpg city/35 mpg highway/34 mpg combined. With AWD, the mileage is 31 mpg/34 mpg/33 mpg. When equipped with the gasoline-fueled 2.5-liter 4-cylinder the mileage with FWD is 26 mpg/33 mpg/29 mpg. Opting for AWD drops the numbers to 25 mpg/32 mpg/27 mpg. These are the mileage numbers regardless if it’s the S, SV, or SL trim.
Which 2019 Nissan Rogue trim level is the safest? - In crash tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Rogue achieved the top score of Good in five of six tests. It rated an acceptable score for the new small overlap front: passenger side test. IIHS still named it a 2019 Top Safety Pick winner. Every trim level provides forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning with steering assist. Also standard for all trims is high-beam assist and blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. The SV adds rear-park assist with automatic braking. You can get a adaptive cruise control, surround-view camera and ProPilot as options on the SV, but they are standard on the SL. So, the nod goes to the SL.
2019 Nissan Rogue S - Standard features are 17-inch steel wheels with covers, halogen headlights, high-beam assist, cloth seating, and a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat.
Also included are a 40/20/40 sliding-reclining split-folding second-row seat, three 12-volt power ports, and power accessories (windows, door locks, and outboard rearview mirrors). Cruise control, a 5-inch driver information display, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, one USB port, and Nissan Connect with mobile apps are also standard. The infotainment system includes a 7-inch touchscreen, a 4-speaker audio system, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and satellite radio capability. The driver aids are forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking and lane-departure warning with steering assist. Also standard is blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. A Special Edition Package is optional. It gains you heated outboard mirrors, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated front seats, alloy wheels, and more. Key features of the 2019 Nissan Rogue S include:
- High-beam assist – If your vehicle has this system, the high beams are always on. When photosensors or a forward pointed camera detects oncoming headlights or taillights, the system automatically switches off the high beams. Then automatically switches them back on when no vehicle lights are detected.
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto – Allow your smartphone to interface with your vehicle. Not only can you access the music on your phone, but you can also send messages, receive messages, make calls, and so forth through your vehicle’s media system.
- Remote keyless entry – You can unlock and lock the vehicle remotely when in range using the fob.
2019 Nissan Rogue SV - To the S, the SV adds all the features listed in the S Special Edition Package. Also included are roof rails, a hands-free power rear liftgate, auto on-off headlights, and outboard mirrors with integrated turn signals. An 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a 6-speaker audio system, text messaging, and dual-zone automatic climate control are standard. Other features are keyless entry with push-button start, rear-park assist with rear automatic braking, and remote start. There are a couple of option packages, including a grocery list of features. For example, the Premium Package ($1,800) includes features like a surround-view camera and ProPilot Assist, Nissan’s semi-autonomous driving system that can steer, accelerate, and brake the vehicle under certain conditions. Key features of the 2019 Nissan Rogue SV include:
- Remote start – When within range, you can start the vehicle from outside it with the key fob. It’s handy for precooling the vehicle in summer and preheating it in winter.
- Hands-free power liftgate – With the key fob on your person, stick your foot under the rear bumper. The liftgate automatically opens.
- Auto on-off headlights – Photosensors detect a reduction in daylight, which automatically engages the headlights and taillights. The system extinguishes the lights when an appropriate amount of daylight returns.
2019 Nissan Rogue SV Hybrid - Other than the hybrid powertrain and somewhat better fuel economy, the SV Hybrid mirrors the SV.
2019 Nissan Rogue SL - To the SV, the SL adds 19-inch alloy wheels, an electronic parking brake, a heated steering wheel, memory for the outboard mirrors, and fog lights. Also standard are leather seating, a 4-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and a 9-speaker Bose audio system. An auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Homelink transceiver, a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and Nissan ProPilot system are included, too. A Premium Package gains you a power panoramic moonroof and LED headlights. Key features of the 2019 Nissan Rogue SL include:
- Auto-dimming rearview mirror – Using photosensors, it recognizes bright headlights closing from behind. It then automatically dims the reflection of those lights.
- Surround-view camera – It provides a 360-degree bird’s-eye view around the vehicle. This feature is particularly valuable when parking.
- ProPilot Assist – Nissan’s semi-autonomous driving system can steer, accelerate, and brake the vehicle under certain conditions.
2019 Nissan Rogue SL Hybrid - Other than the hybrid powertrain and somewhat better fuel economy, the SL Hybrid mirrors the SL.
