2024 Ford F-150 Raptor R Gets More Power!

The Ford Raptor is a monster machine, no matter if you get it with the V6 or the supercharged V8. It is quite a bit more monstrous if you get the R version, but both are absolute rippers off-road. For the 2024 model year, both versions get a handful of updates, and all it does is make the truck that much better.
How Much Power Does the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor Make?
The Ford F-150 Raptor comes in two flavors; you have a V6 or the supercharged V8 Raptor R. The “low-power” version features a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost 6-cylinder that produces 450 horsepower. Lift the hood of the R, and you’ll be staring at a 5.2-liter V8 that now produces 720 hp and 640 lb-ft of torque. That’s a bump of 20 hp over the prior version and a healthy bump over the 702 delivered by the Ram 1500 TRX. That wonderful Ram, by the way, is being put out to pasture. If you want a new one, you better scoop it up this year.
What’s New on the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor?
Back to the Ford, though, as we need to talk upgrades and changes. The face now has a different look. Those headlights are different. There’s a great new color being offered called “Shelter Green.” And if you spec the modular front bumper, it has revised end caps, improved accessory mounting spots, and stronger front tow hooks. Also upgraded is the Fox Live Valve suspension system. The Dual Live Valve Shocks feature position-sensitive compression control and continuously variable rebound control. As the truck moves up or down, the shocks know precisely how to respond to give you the best ride. This improves both off-road and road ride quality. The system can adapt instantaneously since the algorithm responsible for sorting it all out takes readings and makes adjustments hundreds of times a second.
The good news concerning the beefier bumper and updated suspension is that it comes on Raptor trucks equipped with the 37-inch tire setup. This means it’s all standard kit for the mighty Raptor R, but even better, it is available for V6 Raptor shoppers. You just have to spec the 37-inch tire model, instead of the 35-inch setup that comes standard. And yes, I’m still waiting to see who will be the first automaker to offer up 40-inch tires as an option and give us the street-legal trophy truck of my dreams. The F-150 Raptor R is already pretty darn close, as is the Ram 1500 TRX.
How Much Is the 2024 Ford F-150 Raptor?
With these updates, the 2024 Raptor rolls into the new year, ready to continue as the rock star truck it is, but that also means a slight bump in the price. The standard Ford F-150 Raptor now starts at about $78K, while the Raptor R is up there at nearly $110K. Neither of these prices includes Ford’s $1,995 destination charge for getting it to the dealer. And if you were thinking about sticking with the V6 but getting the 37-inch tire setup, that’s not cheap either. The Raptor 37 802A Equipment Group will set you back an additional $11,470. That would bring you to just under $90K before any other options or the delivery fee. At least Shelter Green is a no-cost option. Related:
