The Toyota Crown name is known worldwide, first coming into production in 1955. Introduced to the U.S. market in 2023, the Crown is unlike most sedans. It has a higher ride height akin to an SUV and features standard all-wheel drive (AWD). It also offers a choice of two hybrid powertrains, making it exceptionally fuel-efficient. Toyota Crown (1st Generation: 2023 - Current)

Key Improvements: Toyota offers the Crown with a choice of two hybrid powertrains. The standard setup consists of a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors for a total output of 236 horsepower and a combined fuel economy estimate of 41 mpg. Upper trims get the Hybrid Max powertrain that brings a turbocharged 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine and twin electric motors, bumping horsepower to 340 but dropping fuel economy to 30 mpg. Trims range from comfortably equipped to near Lexus-level luxury. Standard equipment includes a full suite of driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, and rear cross-traffic detection. There are dual 12.3-inch screens (one for the instruments and one for the multimedia system), heated power-adjustable front seats, heated rear seats, a wireless charging pad, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Moving up the trim ladder brings a panoramic glass roof, JBL audio, a self-parking feature, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and Toyota’s Digital Key that turns your phone into a key.

Model Updates: For 2024, Traffic Jam Assist, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assist are optional on the Limited and standard on the Platinum. The Nightshade trim and additional standard equipment, such as heated and cooled front seats, a heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery, arrive for 2025. The Platinum gains a head-up display standard.
