The Chevrolet Suburban is all-new for 2021 and is its best version yet. This full-size 3-row SUV combines the massive interior space and passenger-carrying ability needed by large and active families with a fresh roster of safety and technology features. We'd skip the base LS model and recommend at least one trim higher to get features like a power liftgate, leather interior and upgraded audio. If buying anything less than the Premier trim, be sure to add the Driver Awareness Package. That package's enhanced safety features are well worth the extra $790.

The 2021 Suburban is available in six trims: LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier and High Country. The
Suburban LS starts at $51,700, plus a destination fee of $1,295, and includes tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless open and push-button start, power front seats, remote start and premium cloth seats. The Suburban's standard
infotainment system bundles a 10-in touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto integration and 6-speaker audio system. All Suburban models include GM's subscription-based
OnStar with 4G LTE integration and Wi-Fi. More recommendable is the
Suburban LT trim ($56,500) that adds hands-free power liftgate, leather interior, 9-speaker Bose audio, memory driver's seat,
wireless phone charger, auto-dimming rearview mirror, universal garage remote and heated front seats. The
Suburban RST ($59,800) includes 22-in wheels and darkened aesthetics for what Chevy calls "street-inspired" character. The
Suburban Z71 ($61,900) off-road-oriented model comes with
4-wheel-drive (optional on other trims),
hill-descent control, all-terrain terrains and front skid plate. The
Suburban Premier ($65,300) has magnetic ride control, 12-way power front seats with heating and ventilation, power-release rear seats, navigation, 10-speaker Bose audio and 8-in digital instrument cluster. The new
Suburban High Country trim ($72,300) includes the 6.2-liter V8,
head-up display, surround-view camera and rear camera mirror. If you order the diesel, it's $995 more than the price of the 5.3. If you order the diesel in the opulent Suburban High Country, it represents a $1,500 savings compared to the 6.2-liter gasoline V8. Options for the Suburban include air suspension on Z71 and High Country models. For towing enthusiasts, the Max Trailering Package adds a more robust radiator and cooling fan, plus hitch guidance and hitch view in the backup camera. Adaptive cruise control is reserved for top models. Large families needing seating for nine can opt for that setup in LS models by selecting a front bench seat. For rear passengers, a more comfortable setup can be had by getting second-row bucket seats in lieu of a bench.
