<p>The Prologue is Honda’s first all-electric SUV, and like many other electric vehicles on the market, it’s available in FWD and AWD configurations. The AWD dual-motor Prologue adds a few thousand dollars to the price, and the range is reduced by a few percent. Drivers looking for faster acceleration or need to drive in inclement weather should opt for the more powerful dual-motor configuration. In terms of size, the Honda Prologue has dimensions close to the Passport.</p>

<p>Honda plans to develop its own EV platform in the future, but at the launch of the Prologue, it's using General Motors' Ultium platform. GM has quite a few years of experience making electric vehicles and had success with the Chevrolet Bolt, which was produced from 2017 to 2023.</p>

<p>The first-generation Honda Prologue has an 85 kWh lithium battery that provides close to 300 miles of range on a full charge. If the battery is fully depleted, recharging it on a level 2 (240-volt AC) charger at home will take approximately eight hours and at 34.1 miles of range per hour. When using a DC fast charger, the battery can replenish from 20% to 80% charge in 35 minutes at over 60 miles per 10 minutes. Although the economy varies by trim and motor configuration, expect to get around 100 MPGe.</p>

<p>The exterior and interior styling align with the rest of the Honda lineup and have just enough style to turn a few heads while driving around town. Like many electric vehicles, the Prologue is big on tech and features an 11-inch digital instrument display in lieu of a more traditional instrument cluster. There is also an 11.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Google built-in wireless phone connectivity via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Even with all the advanced technology in the Prologue, it’s nice to see that <a href="https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/honda">Honda</a> is still using buttons and knobs for things like HVAC controls and audio volume.</p>

<p>Single motor models make 212 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque and put the power down through the front wheels. While the dual-motor models deliver a stout 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels. The range for single-motor models is 296 miles, and dual-motor models get slightly less range at 281 miles in most trims. The top-tier Prologue Elite has a lower mileage of 273 miles due to the larger 21-inch wheels compared to the 19-inch wheels on the other trim levels.</p>
