What's New in the 2022 Jaguar F-PACE?
Two new limited-edition trim levels arrive for the 2020 F-Pace: Checkered Flag and 300 Sport. The diesel engine option is no longer available. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration becomes standard throughout the range. See the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace models for sale near you
Which F-PACE is the Best?
For an acceptable balancing act between equipment and expenditure, a Prestige version with a few well-chosen options (driver assistance features are invariably a good idea) works well. The gutsier engine is also desirable, since it's more in keeping with the broader Jaguar driving experience. Find a Jaguar F-Pace for sale
How Much Does a 2022 Jaguar F-PACE Cost?
The 2020 Jaguar F-Pace comes in base, Premium, Prestige, R-Sport, Checkered Flag, 300 Sport, S and SVR trim levels.
Premium, Prestige and R-Sport come standard with the 247-hp 4-cylinder but may be upgraded with the 296-hp version for $3,000 extra.
The F-Pace 25t ($46,225) has the 2.0-liter gasoline engine. A powered tailgate is standard along with 18-in alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, keyless ignition/entry, dual-zone climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel, 8-way power-adjustable front seats, simulated leather upholstery, rain-sensing wipers, LED daytime running lights, forward collision warning, a self-dimming rearview mirror, parking assist, 10-in touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration, 380-watt/11-speaker audio system, a USB port, an HD radio and an auxiliary audio input.
Premium ($48,825) comes with 19-in alloy wheels, memory settings for the driver's seat and self-dimming/power-folding side mirrors.
Prestige ($53,225) adds real leather upholstery, heated front seats with 4-way power-adjustable lumbar, a heated windshield and steering wheel (which becomes power-adjustable), Wi-Fi, navigation and road sign recognition.
R-Sport ($57,525) rolls on 20-in alloys and incorporates blind spot monitoring, lane-keeping assist, sportier front seats and fog lamps.
Jaguar says the Checkered Flag ($59,425) version is based on the R-Sport but comes solely with the 247-hp engine. It has its own design of front bumper plus a gloss black grille, roof rails, side vents and door cladding. Paint choices include Yulong White, Santorini Black and Eiger Grey.
300 Sport ($63,025) has the 296-hp engine plus Dark Satin Grey detailing around the grille, side windows, side vents, side mirror housings and the rear valance. Inside, it receives the top-level infotainment system that includes a Meridian sound system, along with 18-way power-adjustable front sport seats and a 12-in configurable driver information display. Paint choices are Yulong White, Santorini Black and Indus Silver.
S ($63,125) puts the V6 into the engine bay, while an adaptive suspension is also added. Otherwise, the equipment list is similar to the R-Sport.
The 30t Portfolio ($64,625) brings a head-up display, satellite radio, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, heated/cooled/20-way power-adjustable front seats, power-reclining rear seats with heated outboards, quad-zone climate control, a gesture-controlled tailgate and an 825-watt surround sound system.
As well as the big V8, the SVR ($81,625) has its own cosmetic additions inside and out, an aero kit, 21-in alloy wheels, quad exhaust tailpipes, bigger brakes and a dedicated suspension setup.
Much of the standard equipment in higher trims is available at extra cost in less expensive variants such as quad-zone automatic climate control, navigation, a 825-watt/17-speaker surround sound system and a laser-based head-up display (rather than LED, so drivers can wear polarized sunglasses and still read it).
Higher trims also offer a TFT/LCD instrument display. A basic driver assistance package is available from Premium trim, while a more comprehensive array becomes eligible at the Prestige level.
Other options include 22-in wheels (that will affect ride comfort), cabin air ionization and a perpendicular/parallel self-parking function.
One noteworthy extra is the Activity Key. It's worn on the wrist and looks like a fitness gadget. It's waterproof and shockproof, so it can be worn while surfing or rock climbing, etc. It enables the user to leave the regular key in the F-Pace and lock the vehicle by placing the Activity Key on the "J" of the tailgate's Jaguar badge. No batteries are required.
Cargo space with the rear seats in place is 33 cu ft., 63 cu ft. when they're folded down flat. Both figures have the edge over the Audi Q5 and BMW X3. The mat in the F-Pace has carpet on one side and a washable rubberized surface on the other. Maximum towing capacity is 5,290 pounds.
