2019 Toyota Camry: Choosing the Right Trim

Having undergone a major revamp in 2018, the 2019 Toyota Camry returns substantially unchanged.

A wildly popular midsize sedan, the Camry cuts a wide swath through the segment with its range of trims and powertrains. Moreover, you can lean more toward the traditional with the L, LE, and XLE or drift more toward sporty with the SE and XSE. We like the Camry for its well-appointed cabin, range of powertrains, easy-to-use technology, and excellent fuel economy.

The standard engine for all grades is a 203-horsepower 2.5-liter 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Its estimated fuel economy for combined city and highway driving is 34 miles per gallon in the L trim and 32 mpg for all the other grades. You can opt for a V6 ($5,125) in the XLE and XSE. The LE, SE, and XLE offer a hybrid (HEV) powertrain. Front-wheel drive (FWD) is standard. However, you can get all-wheel drive (AWD) on the 4-cylinder LE, SE, XLE, and XSE for a $1,400 upcharge.
