After making quite an impression in its introductory year, the Lyriq, Cadillac’s first fully electric vehicle, returns for 2024 with an expanded color palette and double the interior and exterior options, including some metallic jewel tones.
With an estimated range of more than 300 miles, the Lyriq aligns with the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-Pace, and Tesla Model Y. However, its sub-$60,000 price tag is an eye-opener and one the competition may have a hard time matching.
For 2024, Cadillac expands the Lyriq trims to three: Tech, Sport, and Luxury. The new lineup promises to delight with a long list of standard and available features, including Cadillac’s Super Cruise autonomous self-driving mode.
Power flows to the Lyriq’s rear wheels, the preferred choice of driving enthusiasts, but buyers can opt for all-wheel drive (AWD). In rear-drive form, the Lyriq’s electric motor produces the equivalent of 340 horsepower and can travel 308 miles before a recharge is needed. Moving to an AWD version increases horsepower to 500 yet diminishes range by just one mile. That’s a pretty good trade-off.
As the Lyriq now meets the IRS definition as an electric SUV, it qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit, but only if an individual buyer’s annual adjusted gross income does not exceed $150,000 (or $300,000 if filing jointly).
2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech: $57,195 (RWD), $60,695 (AWD)
The entry-level Tech opens the door to Cadillac luxury, but oddly not the brand’s best technology systems. Still, there’s enough “tech” to justify the Tech’s name, beginning with the standard driver-assist systems.
Cadillac’s Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection. It works at speeds above 2 mph.
Other standard equipment consists of a blind-spot monitor with steering assist, rear cross-traffic detection with braking, reverse automatic emergency braking, and front and rear parking sensors.
Lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist are part of the group, along with a following distance indicator, a rear vision camera, and a Safety Alert driver’s seat that vibrates different seat sections to indicate the direction of a potential hazard.
The Lyriq Tech features 20-inch bright silver alloy wheels surrounded by self-sealing all-season tires, a fixed glass roof, heated side mirrors, a power liftgate with programable height adjustment, and heated windshield grids help keep ice from building up on resting wiper blades.
The Lyriq touts vertically stacked LED headlights, an illuminated grille and Cadillac emblem, sound-insulating laminated front side glass, a key fob activated remote keyless entry, and automatic high-beam headlights.
Slide behind the standard tilt/telescoping steering wheel, and you’ll find yourself staring at a massive 33-inch curved display with Google built-in voice control.
The screen includes the instrument cluster and multimedia functions, with access to Cadillac connected apps, personal profiles, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L, and a 5G-capable Wi-Fi hot spot. Most functions can be input via a console-mounted rotary controller if the touchscreen is too great a reach.
Access to the system is easy, with three USB-C data/charge ports up front and two USB-C charge-only ports in the back seat area. If you don’t like the idea of cables cluttering the dash, you can always use the standard wireless charging pad.
Music replication duties come via a 7-speaker Cadillac in-house audio system.
The Lyriq Tech features Inteluxe synthetic leather upholstery covering an 8-way power driver’s seat and a 6-way power passenger seat. Both front seats include 4-way power lumbar support and 2-level heating.
The 60/40-split folding and reclining rear seat features a folding center armrest with built-in cup holders.
Tech amenities include cruise control, one-touch up/down power windows, dual-zone automatic climate controls, sliding sun visors with illuminated mirrors, and carpeted floor mats.
An optional upgrade for the Tech, which we strongly recommend, is the Driver Assist Package. It adds adaptive cruise control, intersection assist with cross-traffic braking, power-folding side mirrors with driver’s auto-dimming feature, rear pedestrian alert, and side bicyclist detection.
The package also includes an HD Surround Vision camera and a parking assistant that can automatically park the Lyriq in a parallel or perpendicular fashion.
With the $1,395 destination charge, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech costs $58,590. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to $1,106. See 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Tech models for sale near you

2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 1: $61,295 (RWD), $64,795 (AWD)
The Luxury 1 trim ups the opulence ante and features two additional sub-trims denoted Luxury 2 and Luxury 3.
This Luxury trim builds off the Tech, adding the content from the Driver Assist Package, adaptive Slimline auto-leveling LED headlights, cornering lights, and illuminated door handles.
Every time you approach the Lyriq Luxury, it puts on choreographed light show, starting at the emblem and radiating out to the headlights, then back over the illuminated door handles and finishing at the taillights.
Additional Luxury features include an illuminated lower rear spoiler, rain-sensing wipers, and 20-inch Diamond Cut wheels.
The Luxury interior adds 26-color ambient interior lighting, a power tilt/telescopic heated steering wheel, and front seats with mini-perforated seat inserts.
Moving to the Luxury 2 trim ($65,595) adds Super Cruise, GM’s autonomous driving system that lets the Lyriq drive itself on designated highways. Other features on the Luxury 2 include a 110-volt outlet, an 8-way power passenger seat, and active noise cancellation.
Luxury 2 buyers upgrade to heated and ventilated front seats with massaging lumbar, a one-touch folding rear seat, and a 19-speaker AKG Studio audio system.
The Luxury 3 trim ($69,195) adds tri-zone automatic climate control with rear seat vents, a rear camera mirror with a rear lens washer, heated second-row seats, and an inclination sensor.
The Luxury 3 also includes a hands-free power liftgate, 22-inch alloy wheels, and an internal sensor that can detect movement inside the vehicle and alert the driver to check for kids or pets left in the back seat.
Optional equipment for the Luxury 2 includes a panoramic power-retractable sunroof and a 19.2-kW onboard charging module.
The Luxury 3 offers the same options as the Luxury 2, plus a black-painted roof and supple Nappa leather upholstery.
With the $1,395 destination charge, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury 1 costs $62,690. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and zero down, the monthly payment comes to $1,183. See 2024 Cadillac Lyriq Luxury models for sale near you

- Inclination sensor – This clever device helps protect the Lyriq from car thieves. It sounds an alarm and activates the Surround Vision recorder (if equipped) when the vehicle’s inclination changes, such as if being jacked up or towed.
2024 Cadillac Lyriq Sport 1: $61,795 (RWD), $65,295 (AWD)
The Lyriq Sport 1, Sport 2 ($66,095), and Sport 3 ($69,695) have the same features as the Luxury 1, Luxury 2, and Luxury 3 trims, only with a few more styling features that make them a bit more expressive.
