As the electric pickup wars heat up, the 2024 GMC Hummer EV Pickup looks poised to make a huge splash. It’s a powerful and capable off-roader ready to take it to the Rivian R1T, Chevrolet Silverado EV, or Ford F-150 Lightning.
There are now three trims: EV2, EV2X, and EV3X. The EV2 and EV2X use a single electric motor at each axle, whereas the EV3X has three motors (one up front and two in the rear) with electronic torque vectoring. Beyond the powertrain and some suspension differences, the three trims are nearly identical regarding features and options.

What’s New:
GMC expands the Hummer EV Pickup range with two trims: EV2 and EV2X. The new trims get a less complex 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system with a single motor at the rear. The Ultium battery pack is upgraded, adding more features, including a long list of dealer-installed equipment. The EV2X and EV3X gain a 19.2-kW charging module capable of powering your external appliances or charging another EV.
Later in the year, a limited Omega Edition joins the lineup, offered as a package on the EV3X.

The best GMC Hummer EV pickup trim is the EV3X. It provides all the features of the other two trims but is the only one with an upgradable battery option giving you more power and range. Opt for the Extreme Off-Road Package if you intend to rough it.

2024 GMC Hummer EV2 Pickup: $84,650 (estimated)
The EV2 uses the same Ultium platform that underpins all Hummer EVs. It’s the least powerful version, however, generating 625 horsepower. The 800-volt DC fast charging capability and 20-module battery pack provide enough power to take the EV2 an estimated 250 miles.
On the mechanical end, the EV2 features a standard FE2 coil-spring suspension and Drive Mode Control with settings for Normal, My Mode, Off-Road, Terrain, and Tow/Haul.
Several trailer-assist systems come standard, including Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, trailer brake control, trailer tire pressure monitors, and trailer and cargo bed camera views.
The EV2 rides on huge 22-inch gloss-black-painted alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. The electric truck features LED headlights separated by a lightbar with walk-up and departure animation. The bar also illuminates to show the charging status. Front and rear amber roof marker lights and LED taillights complete the light show.
The EV2 features 3-arm rain-sensing wipers, proximity keyless entry and push-button start, fixed aluminum side assist steps, and power-folding heated side mirrors with a driver’s side auto-dimming feature. The mirrors also include puddle lights and side perimeter lighting.
A spray-in bedliner protects the pickup’s bed walls and floor, while the 6-function MultiPro EZ Lift tailgate provides multiple configurations for loading and accessing the cargo area. LED lighting and a 120-volt outlet are also bed features.
The Infinity Roof features four removable opaque panels instead of a solid roof. The removable panels can be stored in the front “eTrunk,” an electronic-opening front trunk providing 11.3 cubic feet of storage space.
In addition to the 5-foot bed, there’s an under-seat floor storage compartment for the charging cable and Infinity Roof’s front I-bar, plus a vast storage compartment on the driver’s side rear quarter panel.
The EV2’s rear power window raises and lowers at the push of a button.
Moving to the cabin, the EV2 presents an impressive list of standard features. Among them are tri-zone automatic climate control, a rear camera mirror, a 360-degree HD Surround Vision camera, and a power tilt/telescoping heated steering wheel.
The driver and front passenger sit on heated and ventilated 12-way power front seats with 4-way lumbar support, while the rear seat occupants get heated outboard seats. The driver’s seat includes memory settings for the seat, steering wheel, and mirrors.
Instrumentation comes via a massive 12.3-inch configurable cluster offering several screen themes, including off-road-specific designs.
Right next door is an even larger 13.4-inch color infotainment touchscreen. It provides access to Google built-in apps (including navigation), wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, and an AM/FM stereo. OnStar services and a Wi-Fi hotspot are also available.
A wireless charging pad is included, along with four USB charge ports and a 120-volt outlet.
Music fans will love the standard 14-speaker Bose Premium Surround Sound audio system.
In driver safety, the EV2 comes loaded for bear. Highlights include automatic front and rear emergency braking, front and rear collision alert with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assist, and lane-departure warning.
The side blind-spot monitor extends to include a trailer when towing, while a following distance indicator lets you know when you’re getting too close to the car in front. Rear cross-traffic detection warns of traffic crossing behind the truck, while automatic high-beam headlights dim when detecting oncoming traffic.
The Safety Alert Seat vibrates in the direction of a possible hazard, while the Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist can automatically parallel or perpendicular park the vehicle.
Adaptive cruise control comes standard, as does GM’s Super Cruise semiautonomous driving assistant. Super Cruise lets you drive hands-free over 400,000 miles of approved roads.
Optional equipment for the EV2 is mostly bundled into dealer-installed packages, although you can opt for transparent Infinity Roof panels from the factory.
Among the more notable add-ons are a console-mounted safe, a bedside carrier, an 80-inch tent, a telescoping bed rack, a power-retractable tonneau cover, off-road exterior lighting, and 22-inch wheels.

2024 GMC Hummer EV2 Pickup includes:

The EV2X differs from the EV2 only in its powertrain and suspension equipment. It also opens the door to a few more options.
Building off the EV2, the EV2X adds a 19.2-kW charging module and Continuous Damping Active Ride Control. The Adaptive Air Ride suspension with Extract Mode can raise the EV2X an additional 6 inches past its standard ride height to 15.9 inches.
Electronic 4-wheel steering significantly improves turning radius and maneuverability, turning the rear wheels to almost 10 degrees. This system includes the CrabWalk feature, which can move the EV2X diagonally when traveling at low speed.
Optional for the EV2X is the Extreme Off-Road Package, a must-have for hardcore outdoor adventuring. The package includes driver-selectable front and rear e-locker differentials, complete skid plate protection, 18-inch black aluminum wheels with 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud-terrain tires, rocker protectors with assist steps, and black rear D-ring recovery hooks.
But the most significant features in the package are front and rear-facing underbody cameras. These allow the driver to see beneath the EV2X and include camera lens washers, so accumulated mud and dirt won’t block your view.

2024 GMC Hummer EV2X Pickup includes:

2024 GMC Hummer EV3X Pickup: $104,650
The most capable (and expensive) GMC Hummer EV Pickup is the EV3X. It has a 3-motor powertrain, with one motor up front and two in the rear.
The EV3X brings electronic torque vectoring, a system designed to vary power between the inside and outside rear wheels, helping improve grip in sharp curves while aiding traction when coming out.
If you like speed, the EV3X is the only way to get the Watts to Freedom (a tongue-in-cheek play on WTF) mode. When engaged, WTF lowers the vehicle by 2 inches, preparing it for an insane launch that rockets the 9,000-pound Hummer EV Pickup to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds.
Besides its 22-inch machined alloy wheels, there isn’t much to distinguish the EV3X from the EV2X trim.
Optional equipment for the EV3X includes a larger battery pack for up to 1,000 horsepower and up to a 355-mile range.
