The 2024 Lexus LC is a big, expensive performance machine looking to offer all the excitement of legendary European performance coupes but with the reliability and quality that comes with the Lexus name.
The gas-only LC 500 has a 471-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 hooked to a 10-speed automatic transmission running power to the rear wheels. The LC 500h uses a hybrid powertrain, pairing a 3.5-liter V6 with a pair of electric motors for a combined 354 hp.
Like the Porsche 911, Mercedes-Benz SL, and BMW 8 Series, the LC offers the highest quality interior materials, technology, and optional upgrades, including a Bespoke build that allows customers more say in paint choice, interior color, wheels, and trim.

What’s New
For 2024, the LC coupe and convertible gain the hybrid’s 21-inch staggered-width wheels. All models get a new 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with a built-in panoramic view monitor, an updated Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 driver-assist suite, and front and rear parking sensors. A new interior color (Rioja Red) and two new exterior paint choices (Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0 and Copper Crest) are added.
Our Recommendation
With its powerful V8 engine and 10-speed automatic, the LC 500 is the best version of the Lexus high-end performance coupe formula. The LC 500h does get better fuel economy, but its CVT doesn’t do it for us. Plus, the hybrid just doesn’t have the visceral growl that only a V8 can produce.

2024 Lexus LC 500: $98,850
The Lexus LC 500 coupe may wear a luxury brand badge, but its performance credentials are legit. Along with its 5.0-liter V8, the LC 500 brings Drive Mode Select with Sport S and S+ settings. It also features an adaptive variable suspension (that takes just milliseconds to adjust shock damping to varying road surface conditions) and an Active Sport Exhaust that emits a sinister growl.
Unlike some high-performance coupes, the LC doesn’t skimp on advanced driver safety and assistance systems. As part of the Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 suite, the LC includes a pre-collision warning system with pedestrian detection, emergency assist steering, and left-turn oncoming vehicle detection with automatic braking.
The suite also contains adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic detection, traffic sign recognition, and automatic high-beam headlights.
A quick walk around the LC 500 reveals new 21-inch staggered-width alloy wheels borrowed from the hybrid model. The coupe features a fixed glass roof, auto-dimming heated power-folding side mirrors, premium triple-beam LED headlights, flush exterior door handles, and SmartAccess keyless entry that grants access to the vehicle without removing the fob from your purse or pocket.
Lexus’ Intuitive Parking Assist (front and rear parking sensors) comes standard.
For 2024, Lexus sees improvements to the LC’s stylish cabin. Gone is the old 10.3-inch infotainment screen operated by a control pad or voice command. Replacing it is a vivid 12.3-inch touchscreen connected to the Lexus Interface infotainment system.
The system includes a 3-year trial of Drive Connect featuring cloud-based navigation, Destination Assist, and the Lexus Intelligent Assistant, which comes to life when you say, “Hey, Lexus.” Once awake, the assistant can change audio input, adjust cabin temperature, and help find points of interest, all via voice command.
It also includes the Panoramic View Monitor, giving a full 360-degree view outside the car.
Standard features for the audio and infotainment include wireless Apple CarPlay integration and Android Auto compatibility, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and access to several Lexus Service Connect apps allowing for everything from tracking a missing vehicle to remote starting the LC.
A 12-speaker premium audio system comes standard but can be upgraded to a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound system powered by a 915-watt amplifier.
Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, 10-way power-adjustable heated and ventilated front seats including power lumbar support, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel with magnesium paddle shifters, and 3-person memory for the driver’s seat, steering wheel, and exterior mirrors.
An 8-inch configurable instrument cluster makes it easy to customize the desired vehicle information, including a G-force meter. Sadly, last year’s elegant analog clock is no more, vanquished to make room for the new infotainment touchscreen.
Leather upholstery, aluminum pedals, ambient interior lighting, a small-diameter 3-spoke steering wheel, and a deodorizing air filtration system complete the standard equipment roster.
Lexus offers several option packages for the LC.
The All-Weather Package adds windshield wiper de-icers and a heated steering wheel.
The Touring Package brings semi-aniline leather front seats, an Alcantara headliner, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, and the All-Weather Package.
The Sport Package adds Alcantara seat inserts, a rear performance damper, a Torsen limited-slip rear differential, and performance brakes.
The Dynamic Handling Package includes the Sport Package, rear-wheel steering, variable steering, a speed-activated rear wing, and a carbon-fiber roof.
Standalone options include a color head-up display, gloss-black metallic 21-inch wheels, 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio, and carbon-fiber door scuff plates.

- Adaptive suspension – The adaptive shock dampers automatically adjust to compensate for road imperfections, ensuring a smooth and controlled ride.
- Panoramic View Monitor – The standard surround-view monitor gathers images from the front, rear, and sides to create a 360-degree image outside the vehicle.
2024 Lexus LC 500 Convertible: $106,350
The LC 500 Convertible has the same equipment as the coupe, replacing the hardtop with a 4-layer power-retractable soft-top. To compensate for changes in weight and rigidity, the convertible receives additional underbody bracing, revised shock and spring rates, and revised settings for the adaptive shocks.
Changes to the Touring Package include adding upper body heating and embossed headrests.
While the Dynamic Handling and Sport Package are not offered on the convertible, buyers can opt for individual options, including the rear performance damper and Torsen limited-slip differential.
The Bespoke Build option can now be ordered on the convertible.

2024 Lexus LC 500 Convertible includes:
- Power soft-top – The LC 500 Convertible’s soft-top features multiple layers. Once the sun comes out, the top can retract in 15 seconds and be operated at speeds up to 30 mph.
- Upper body heating – The LC 500 Convertible’s front seats feature heat vents up top to help keep your upper body warm.
- Available Bespoke Build – New for 2024, the Bespoke Build option allows owners to be Lexus designers.
2024 Lexus LC 500h: $102,150
The hybrid LC 500h replaces the LC 500’s V8 with a V6/electric motor combo and its 10-speed automatic transmission with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The CVT simulates gear shifts like the 10-speed, helping make its performance a bit more convincing.
While not as quick to 60 mph, the difference is a mere .3 seconds (4.4 vs. 4.7 for the hybrid), making the hybrid’s superior fuel economy a compelling reason to buy.
The hybrid’s standard equipment list is nearly identical to the gas-only LC 500, with only a few changes to the optional equipment packages.
The All-Weather Package gains a fast-response electric heater, and the hybrid’s Sport Package deletes the rear performance damper and a limited-slip differential. However, they’re still both part of the Dynamic Handling Package.
With the $1,150 delivery fee already figured into the price, the 2024 Lexus LC 500h sells for $102,150. On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the monthly payment comes to $1,928. See 2024 Lexus LC 500h models for sale near you
2024 Lexus LC 500h includes:
- Hybrid system – The LC 500h’s hybrid powertrain is not as potent as the LC 500’s V8, but ample torque and electric assist give it nearly equal acceleration and far better fuel economy.
- Wireless connectivity – The LC’s new 12.3-inch touchscreen brings with it wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Available Mark Levinson Reference Surround Sound– If you’re a music lover, the Mark Levinson upgrade is a must-have and still one of the better-sounding audio systems we’ve experienced in the class.
