The classic Mercedes-Benz E-Class enters a new generation for the 2024 model year. For now, the new E-Class isn’t available as a coupe or convertible. It’s strictly a sedan or a rugged wagon. Now equipped with mild-hybrid 4-cylinder or 6-cylinder engines, standard all-wheel drive (AWD), and a healthy supply of cutting-edge tech features, the 2024 E-Class remains a class leader in midsize luxury cars. If the C-Class is too small and the S-Class is too large (or expensive), the E-Class fills a sweet spot in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz lineup.
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class competes with the BMW 5 Series (also all-new for 2024), Audi A6, and Genesis G80.
What’s New:
The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is all-new for 2024. It’s available as a sedan or wagon. No high-performance AMG models have been confirmed for the 2024 model year.
Our Recommendation:
The E 350 is the best choice for most buyers, and we highly recommend adding the Driver Assistance Package. We love that the 4Matic AWD system comes standard, as well as a generous list of luxurious and high-tech features. From there, choose the options that best suit your taste.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E 350: $60,000 (estimated)
The Mercedes-Benz E 350 is powered by a turbocharged mild-hybrid 4-cylinder engine rated at 255 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Output is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system. The 2023 E 350 returned up to 23 city/31 highway/26 combined mpg, and we expect the all-new 2024 E-Class to have a similar EPA fuel economy rating.
Standard features in the new E 350 include Agility Control suspension with selective damping, sporty AMG body styling, 18-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, MB-Tex faux leather upholstery, heated front seats, a garage door opener, 64-color ambient interior lighting, a wireless charging pad, and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
The MBUX infotainment system has a 14.4-inch touchscreen, navigation with augmented reality, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM, and a 6-speaker audio system. Standard safety tech includes a surround-view camera, parking sensors, Active Parking Assist, Active Brake Assist, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic high beams.
In typical Mercedes-Benz fashion, numerous options can make this luxury sedan your own. Leather upholstery is available in multiple colors for $1,620; Nappa leather costs $2,990. Interior trim options include various types of wood and finishes in silver metallic or black piano lacquer.
Our favorite option package is the Driver Assistance Package ($1,950), which adds adaptive cruise control, active speed limit assist, traffic sign assist, lane-keeping assist, and active steering assist.
The Pinnacle Trim adds heat and noise-insulating glass, active ambient lighting, a head-up display, and an illuminated grille for drivers looking for more luxury. The MBUX Superscreen Package adds the dash-spanning Superscreen, which includes a front passenger display and a selfie camera. Drivers in cold climates will want the Winter Package ($450), which adds a heated steering wheel and a heated windshield washer system.
A few individual options include Airmatic air suspension with 4-wheel steering, a Burmester 4D audio system, heated rear seats ($500), ventilated front seats ($450), soft-close doors ($300), and a dashcam ($200).
With the $1,150 destination fee, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 350 costs $61,150, based on our estimate. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the estimated monthly payment comes to $1,154. See 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 350 models for sale near you
2024 Mercedes-Benz E 350 includes:
255-hp turbo engine — The standard engine in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class propels this luxury sedan to 60 mph in 6.1 seconds.

2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450: $66,000 (estimated)
The powertrain is the big difference between the E 350 and the E 450. The Mercedes-Benz E 450 power comes from a turbocharged, mild-hybrid 6-cylinder engine making 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. According to Mercedes, the 2024 E 450 sprints to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
According to the EPA estimates, the 2023 E 450 returned 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway/26 mpg combined mpg, and we expect similar ratings for the 2024 model. Surprisingly, that’s the same fuel economy rating as the E 350.
Other than that, the standard and optional features are the same as those on the E 350. Besides the engine, there are no options unique to the E 450 that you can’t get on the E 350.
With the $1,150 destination fee, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 costs $67,150, based on our estimate. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the estimated monthly payment comes to $1,267. See 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 models for sale near you
2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 includes:
375-hp turbo engine — A potent inline-6 engine powers the E 450, enabling the E450 to hit 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds.
2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain: $72,000 (estimated)
As its name suggests, the Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain is the most rugged version of the E-Class. It’s also a station wagon with the added versatility of 64.6 cubic feet of luggage capacity.
Because the EPA rated the 2023 E 450 All-Terrain at 21 mpg city/28 mpg highway/24 mpg combined mpg, we expect similar ratings for the 2024 version of the E-Class wagon.
The E 450 All-Terrain gets the same 6-cylinder engine as the E 450 sedan. It also has Airmatic air suspension with ADS+ dampers as standard equipment, along with off-road driving mode and a “Transparent Hood” feature that improves the forward view while driving off-road.
With the $1,150 destination fee, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain costs $73,150, based on our estimate. On a 60-month loan with 5% financing and $0 down, the estimated monthly payment comes to $1,380. See 2024 Mercedes-Benz E 450 All-Terrain models for sale near you
