Porsche offers the 2024 718 Cayman in several iterations, ranging from the fun and frugal (for a Porsche) 718 Cayman to the blisteringly fast GT4 RS (which isn’t so frugal). And, while the current 718 Cayman lacks a few advanced driver-assist systems found in some rivals, it still bristles with the latest Porsche technology, including advanced suspension, engine, and infotainment systems. And don’t even get us started about the volumes of optional upgrades and personalization choices.
You can spend less and get similar performance from a Nissan Z, Toyota GR Supra, or Lexus RC, or spend about the same and get into a Jaguar F-Type or Chevrolet Corvette. If you like the idea of the same car with a convertible top, consider the Porsche 718 Boxster.
What’s New:
For 2024, Porsche adds a new Style Edition trim with 20-inch wheels, unique body graphics, and a selection of vivid paint colors, including Ruby Star Neo. Removed from the lineup this year is the 718 T and GT4.
Our Recommendation:
As good as the base Porsche 718 Cayman and S models are, there is just no replacing the feel from the 6-cylinder GTS 4.0. However, if price is a factor, we’d pick the Cayman S and load it with a few upgrades.
These are the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) and include the $1,650 factory-to-dealer delivery fee (destination charge). Prices are current at the time of publishing.

2024 Porsche 718 Cayman: $69,950
The base Cayman is the first of five trims. It’s fitted with a 300-hp turbocharged 2.0-liter boxer engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. An optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) 7-speed automatic allows for manual shifting, providing the best of both worlds.
The Cayman can bolt to 60 mph in just 4.9 seconds (4.7 with the PDK) and achieves a top speed of 170 mph.
Performance highlights include 4-piston brake calipers with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors, a performance exhaust, 18-inch alloy wheels with performance tires, and a Sport button on the optional PDK transmission, delivering more aggressive gear changes and throttle mapping.
Standard safety equipment (beyond the required airbags, anti-lock brakes, rear backup camera, and traction control) includes front and rear parking sensors. The only driver-assist systems offered are blind-spot monitors with lane-change assist and adaptive cruise control.
Standard equipment for the Cayman includes heated and auto-dimming side mirrors, an extendable rear wing, rain-sensing intermittent wipers, bi-xenon headlights with integrated cleaners, and Porsche Dynamic Light System. The PDLS system adjusts the beams’ range, direction, and width depending on the driving speed or when encountering sharp curves.
Cabin amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a tilt/telescoping sport steering wheel, one-touch power windows, and heated leather sport seating with manual fore/aft adjustment and power recline.
Instruments critical to driving enthusiasts include a large center-mounted tachometer, a 4.6-inch digital driver information display, and gauges that monitor coolant temp, oil pressure, and oil temperature.
Finally, we come to the Cayman’s infotainment setup, a mix of old and new. The new includes a 7-inch touchscreen with access to an AM/FM/HD Radio, an 8-speaker sound system, wired Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Porsche Car Connect apps.
Porsche offers a staggering number of Cayman upgrades, including numerous paints, interior colors, wheel options, and accents.
The Cayman’s Premium Package includes keyless entry with proximity key fob and push-button start, a blind-spot monitor, power-folding side mirrors, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and upgraded interior lighting.
The Sport Chrono Package is a must for Porschephiles. It includes a digital/analog stopwatch with a built-in clock mounted atop the center dash and a steering-wheel-mounted Sport button with settings for Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, and Individual. Models equipped with the PDK transmission add a Sport Response mode.
Also included in the Sport Chrono Package are launch control, rev matching, active driveline mounts that change stiffness, and a PSM Sport Mode that briefly allows for added performance bursts.
Mechanical enhancements include a Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) adaptive suspension that lowers the car by 10 millimeters, an enhanced power steering system, Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanical locking differential, and a larger 16.9-gallon fuel tank.
Optional seat upgrades include 14-way power sport seats or 18-way adaptive sport seats, both with memory features.
Also available is a rear wiper/washer, a rear wing in high-gloss black, and several exterior styling and painted trim options.
Music lovers want the Burmester high-end audio system with 12 speakers, an 821-watt amp, and a 300-watt subwoofer. Additional upgrades to the Cayman’s infotainment system include navigation, voice control, and a less-expensive audio upgrade, a 505-watt 10-speaker Bose audio system.
Once you’ve figured out the exact build for your new Cayman, you have three delivery options: have it delivered to your dealer, pick it up at Porsche Cars North America headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia (includes lunch and a 90-minute track session), or go directly to one of two factories in Germany.

2024 Porsche 718 Cayman Style Edition: $76,250
The 718 Cayman Style Edition builds on the base 718 Cayman, adding visual upgrades like 20-inch gloss black wheels and black decals. With some colors, buyers can opt for white wheels and white decals.
Other unique styling details include black stainless steel exhaust tailpipes and black leather sport seats with Chalk-colored stitching. The Leather Package is standard on the Style Edition, adding black leather to the instrument cluster, center console storage cover, door armrests, and door grab handles.

2024 Porsche 718 Cayman Style Edition includes:
Available PASM sport suspension – Improves handling with a 10-millimeter lower chassis. Features electronically controlled dampers and stiffer anti-roll bars.
Available Porsche Torque Vectoring – Uses the brakes to route torque to the outside rear wheel during aggressive cornering, helping improve stability and traction.
Available full bucket seats – Offering excellent lateral support, these race-inspired seats are great for hardcore enthusiasts but can’t accommodate child safety seats.
2024 Porsche 718 Cayman S: $81,950
The Cayman S builds off the base Cayman, adding a 350-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder boxer engine for an impressive boost in acceleration. The Cayman S can dash to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds (4.2 with the PDK and 4.0 flat with PDK and the Sport Chrono Package).
Everything else, from the standard features to the optional equipment, is nearly identical. However, the Cayman S does get 19-inch Boxster S alloy wheels and an available PASM Sport Suspension with a 20-millimeter drop.
On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman S monthly payment starts at $1,547. See 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman S models for sale near you
2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0: $96,850
For many, the GTS 4.0 is the first of three Cayman models that can legitimately challenge the legendary 911 for performance bragging rights.
Powering the GTS 4.0 is a 4.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine good for 394 hp and 309 lb-ft of torque (with the manual transmission). A 6-speed manual is standard, with the 7-speed PDK optional.
With the manual transmission, the GTS 4.0 can rocket to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds. With the PDK automatic, the time drops to 3.8 seconds. A top speed of 182 mph is possible with the manual and 179 mph with the automatic.
Given its price and performance intentions, it should come as no surprise the GTS includes as standard the best Cayman features, including the 20-millimeter lower PASM Sport Suspension, Porsche Torque Vectoring, the Sport Chrono Package, active transmission mounts, a Sport Exhaust, 20-inch Satin Black wheels, and larger brakes with 6-piston front brake calipers.
Stylistically, the GTS gains a GTS-specific SportDesign front and rear fascias in Satin Black and gloss-black exhaust tips.
The GTS adds more aggressive Sport Seats Plus heated seats, a GT Sport steering wheel, and Sport pedals and footrest.
In addition to the Cayman S options, the GTS offers Full Bucket Seats with carbon-fiber frames, a less aggressive PASM suspension with a 10-millimeter drop, adaptive cruise control, and ventilated seats.
GTS buyers can opt for a more economical 505-watt, 10-speaker Bose Surround Sound system if the Burmester audio upgrade is too expensive.
On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 monthly payment starts at $1,828. See 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 for sale near you
2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 includes:
6-cylinder boxer engine – With six horizontally opposed cylinders, the 4.0-liter boxer engine gives the Cayman the low-end torque and acceleration expected of a Porsche sports car.
Porsche Torque Vectoring – Using brake force on the inner rear wheel, this system tricks the rear differential lock into routing more power to the outside rear wheel, providing improved traction when exiting tight corners.
Available PASM 10-millimeter suspension – A less aggressive PASM suspension provides a more comfortable ride while returning impressive cornering.
2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS: $163,650
The GT4 RS takes all that we love about the GT4 and tweaks it to the limit, offering 493 hp, a 196-mph top speed, and a 3.2-second 0-60 mph time.
The GT4 RS comes standard with the 7-speed PDK automatic transmission, launch control, and PDK Sport button for shorter, more dynamic shifts. The suspension has secondary front and rear helper springs that keep the main springs under tension.
Additional performance features over the GT4 include an adjustable racetrack chassis with RS-specific springs and shock damping, dimpled brake rotors, a 3-level-adjustable rear fixed rear wing, a 4-level front diffuser, plus a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic hood and fenders.
Standard equipment includes dual-zone automatic climate control, Full Bucket Seats with power height adjustment, a unique GT4 RS interior in Black and Arctic Gray, an RS-specific steering wheel, navigation, and red brake calipers.
One of the more notable offerings is the Paint-to-Sample option ($14,750), allowing owners to drape their Cayman GT4 RS in various hues, including several historic Porsche paint colors.
Unique to the GT4 RS is the Weissach Package ($13,250), which adds titanium tailpipes, an exposed carbon-fiber hood, air intakes, exterior mirrors, and a rear wing.
One more expense that’s unique to the GT4 RS is a $1,300 federal gas-guzzler import tax, which we factor into the MSRP and monthly payments.
On a 60-month loan at 5% financing and $0 down, the 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS monthly payment starts at $3,088. See 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS models for sale near you
2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS includes:
PASM Sport Suspension – Lowers the car by 30 millimeters for road-hugging performance in the curves. It features active dampers.
Available ceramic-composite brakes – These hardened brake discs improve stopping ability, resist brake fade, and limit brake dust buildup on the wheels.
Available 3D-printed Bodyform driver’s seat – The 3D-printed driver’s seat replaces the seat cushion and seatback with lightweight materials with varying degrees of firmness, creating a custom-fitting seat mimicking seats found in professional race cars.
