Toyota’s highly entertaining rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, the 2-seat GR Supra, powers into the 2024 model year in relatively unchanged fashion.
With one exception: There’s an all-new model celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Supra nameplate (which initially appeared on high-performance versions of the Toyota Celica in the late 1970s).
Called the 45th Anniversary Special Edition, this new 2024 Toyota Supra trim level replaces the A91-MT model at the top of the lineup. Like the A91, it’s a limited-production model, with Toyota bringing only 900 of them to the United States (as opposed to 500 for the A91).
As before, you can still get a Supra with a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. Called the GR Supra 2.0, its engine sends 255 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. No manual transmission is available in the 4-cylinder Supra.
Far sportier is the turbocharged 3.0-liter available in all other 2024 Toyota GR Supra models. A model of smoothness, this 6-cylinder engine sends 382 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a paddle-shift 8-speed automatic transmission or an honest 6-speed manual.
The EPA rates the 2024 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 at 25 mpg city/31 mpg highway/27 mpg combined. The 6-cylinder Supra 3.0 is expected to return 23 mpg city/31 mpg highway/26 mpg combined with the automatic, or 19 mpg city/27 mpg highway/21 mpg combined with the manual.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra — built in Graz, Austria, and closely related to the BMW Z4 — is sold in the following four trim configurations: 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and new 45th Anniversary Special Edition. Competitors include its BMW Z4 cousin, plus disparate other sport coupes like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and maybe even the Porsche 718 Cayman.

There’s a new top Supra for 2024. Called the 45th Anniversary Special Edition, it’s essentially a very well-equipped version of the 3.0 Premium. It’s available in two bright colors: Mikan Blast (orange) or Absolute Zero (white). Only 900 45th Anniversary Supra cars are coming to the U.S.
Our Recommendation:
Our favorite 2024 Toyota Supra is the 3.0 Premium. We’re in love with the smooth 6-cylinder engine, and the Premium model woos us with its leather interior, wireless smartphone charger, head-up display, and killer 12-speaker JBL audio system. All for less than $60,000. Do note, however: If you want adaptive cruise control, it’s available only with the automatic transmission.

2024 Toyota GR Supra 2.0: $45,540
The GR Supra 2.0, available exclusively with the automatic transmission, features 18-inch alloy wheels, an aerodynamic undertray, dual rear exhausts, and an 8.8-inch digital gauge cluster.
Also standard on the GR Supra 2.0: manual sport seats trimmed in Alcantara and leather, auto-leveling LED headlights, and a leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel. The 2-seat cockpit also boasts carbon-fiber trim, dual-zone automatic climate control, a 4-speaker audio system, and an 8.8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth connectivity.
Other standard fare on this base Supra includes cruise control, heated outboard mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, paddle shifters, and a robust safety suite that consists of a forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a lane-departure warning (with steering assist), and active high-beam headlights.
We recommend the $3,485 Safety & Technology Package, which has adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors with braking. The package also includes a 12-speaker JBL audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Supra Connected automatic emergency calling.

2024 Toyota GR Supra 2.0 includes:
- Grippy Michelin tires – The Supra 2.0 gets sticky Michelin Pilot Super Sport summer tires, size 255/40ZR-18 front, 275/40ZR-18 rear.
- Dual-zone automatic climate control – This system provides separate temperature settings for each person in the Supra. It automatically maintains preset temperatures.
- Launch control – When you use this feature (which optimizes the amount of wheelspin during acceleration), the base Supra hits 60 mph in a fleet five seconds flat.
2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0: $54,500
The GR Supra 3.0 builds on the GR Supra 2.0 by adding the 6-cylinder engine, which puts out a healthy 382 hp at 5,800 rpm and 369 lb-ft of torque at only 1,800 rpm. With either the 8-speed automatic or 6-speed manual gearbox, this Supra 3.0 begins at $54,500.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 gets retuned steering and suspension for better chassis composure on twisty roads. Specific hardware unique to the Supra 3.0 includes adaptive suspension, forged 19-inch alloy wheels, an electronic limited-slip rear differential, and large Brembo front brakes with 4-piston calipers. (The Supra 2.0, for the record, has single-piston front brakes.)
With the manual transmission, Toyota has tuned the traction control to work as smoothly as the automatic to ensure stability when exiting corners with lots of throttle. Moreover, the 6-cylinder Supra also has a program that intervenes more quickly than stability control if there’s a sudden loss of grip when the suspension is in its sportiest setting. The GR Supra 3.0 also comes with Track mode, which allows some drifting but reduces your chance of spinning, thanks to the quick modulation of engine torque.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 standard fare includes a 10-speaker audio system, heated power seats, and sport pedals. And although the same highly recommended Safety & Technology Package from the 2.0 model (with adaptive cruise control and a blind-spot monitor) is available on the 3.0, it can be ordered only on the Supra 3.0 with an automatic transmission. This $3,155 package adds the 12-speaker JBL sound system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and a touchpad rotary controller.
While a Safety & Technology Package is also available on GR Supra 3.0 with the manual transmission, it does not have adaptive cruise control. As such, it costs only $2,960.

2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 includes:

- Electronic rear differential – This limited-slip differential transfers torque to the outside rear wheel when exiting corners, keeping the inside rear wheel from spinning wildly.
- Available manual transmission – For those who like to change gears themselves, Toyota provides this no-cost option on the Supra 3.0.
2022 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium: $57,650
What does the Supra 3.0 Premium get you compared to the standard Supra 3.0?
For an extra $3,150, you get quite a lot. Notable improvements include forged 19-inch wheels in gunmetal gray, leather-trimmed heated sport seats, a wireless smartphone charger, a head-up display, a 12-speaker JBL sound system, and an 8.8-inch touchscreen with navigation, SiriusXM satellite radio, and wireless Apple CarPlay.
The 2024 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium also features Toyota Supra Connect, a technology suite with emergency 911 calling, remote locking and unlocking, and real-time traffic alerts.
Among the available options on the Supra 3.0 Premium with automatic transmission is the $1,195 Driver Assist Package, which includes dynamic radar cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors with automatic braking.
Interestingly, if you order a Supra 3.0 Premium with the no-cost 6-speed manual gearbox, its Driver Assist Package also costs $1,195 but includes conventional cruise control instead of adaptive cruise control.

Based on the mechanicals of the 3.0 Premium model, the slick-looking 45th Anniversary Supra can be ordered with the manual or automatic transmission for the same $64,375 starting price.
Only 900 45th Anniversary Supra units are coming to the U.S. Each, for the record, gets orange strut tower braces and black front brake calipers with the Gazoo Racing logo, plus dual exhaust outlets in brushed stainless steel.

2024 Toyota GR Supra 45th Anniversary Edition includes:
