2019 Honda Odyssey Overview - Since 1995, the Odyssey has been Honda’s entry in the quietly popular Minivan market. By 2019 the Odyssey was on its fifth generation, which began with the 2018 model year. The 2019 Odyssey is the most up-to-date version of this van, with all the features you expect from a modern family vehicle. The Odyssey seats up to eight passengers in three rows with a second-row bench seat or seven passengers with second-row bucket seats. The Odyssey offers 32.8 cubic feet behind the third-row seats, or 88.8 cubic feet when folding down the third row. The Odyssey provides 144.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity with all rear seats folded. All trim levels of the 2019 Odyssey are powered by Honda’s proven and reliable 3.5-liter V6 engine rated at 280 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. Most trims carry a 9-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels. The top Touring and Elite trim levels use a 10-speed automatic, still driving the front wheels. There is no Odyssey with all-wheel drive. All trim levels of the 2019 Honda Odyssey are EPA-rated to return 19 mpg in city driving and 28 mpg on the highway. Another thing to know about the 2019 Honda Odyssey is that it earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2019 Odyssey also earned a 5-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The Odyssey competes with other minivans such as the
Dodge Grand Caravan,
Chrysler Pacifica and
Voyager,
Kia Carnival (formerly known as the
Sedona), and
Toyota Sienna. Honda keeps the Odyssey feature-rich, and along with Honda’s reputation for quality and reliability, the Odyssey remains popular with new and pre-owned buyers. If you buy a 2019 Odyssey through the HondaTrue Certified program, the original basic warranty is extended to 4 years/48,000 miles, or 12 months/12,000 miles if the original warranty has expired. A 7-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty applies from the original in-service date.
