Ford’s New Pickup Truck Winch Can Tug Four EcoSport SUVs at Once

A new winch built by Warn and available on the 2021 Ford Super Duty pickup truck boast a 12,000-pound rating. That’s enough to pull four of the automaker’s lightweight EcoSport SUVs.

Admittedly, it’s unlikely many F-250 and F-350 Super Duty pickup drivers will encounter four EcoSports needing a tug at once, but the winch offers more than enough in reserve to extract one of the automaker’s hefty full-size trucks that can top 6,000 pounds unladen.

The 12,000-pound winch is available for any version of the automaker’s 2020 or newer Super Duty trucks that come with either the 7.3-liter gasoline-fueled V8 or the 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8. It’s also available on any 4-wheel-drive F-250 or F-350 with the optional dual battery and 397-amp alternator package.

Ford offers the winch as a $3,000 option on properly-equipped F-250 and F-350 trucks, or the automaker’s accessory department charges $3,000 plus dealer installation. The winch mounts behind the front bumper and includes a synthetic line.

The winch also includes a wireless remote to allow drivers to extract themselves from a sticky situation while still behind the wheel. Find a Ford F-250 for sale or Find a Ford F-350 for sale
